3 million CCW's in Florida.... you are near them way more often than you imagine. They are concealed so you would never know. How have you survived this long?

    Actually it's one million Chucky.

    http://legallyarmed.com/ccw_statistics.htm

But hey, you only missed it by 200%, not bad by right wing standards, so Kudo's to you.

I don't need to imagine Chuck.

    I'm one of them.

I also reload my own ammo.

    And I'm a Vietnam Vet.

Did you think liberals don't have guns too?

Now go puff out your throat like a big ole frog and try to intimidate someone else.

The "Wild West" or the rural West tends to be very safe. How safe would you feel if you were forced to live in th ghettos of Detroit, Chicago, Newark or Stockton?

Try to think outside your own box. Just because you feel safe where you are, doesn't mean everyone else should feel the same way.

Outside of the range or hunting, I would try to hide my peice in the few places dangerous enough to carry it into in my area.

    Not trying to intimidate...
You appear to be correct on the stats... my source said 3 million have been issued since they started issuing. So its 1 million active.
Nice to know a fellow Liberal carry's and reloads.... me too. I give my Lee press a workout to the tune of about 300 rounds a week. (I'm a competitive shooter)
My point is that there are lots of us that carry everyday and there is nothing for the anti gun folk to be afraid of. We are not the ones contributing to the crime statistics.
Thank you for your service to our country.

Yea, we have a legislator here get on the tube and whine about how he fears for his life every time he walks into an establishment that does not allow weapons. So he's passed a law making it mandatory that all public buildings have to allow weapons, or have airport style security.

Typical republican, complain about government interference while making it.... And the taxpayer takes it up the ass to provide that security.

He wants to make our society as totally uncivilized as possible. Spreading his RW hate. Just waiting for someone to look at him cross eyed so he can pull that weapon and shoot that person dead...claiming he was in fear for his life. Pansy ass coward........

    BS dude...pure BS....

hmmmmmm active shooters kill in no gun zones, I'd say smart man....and good call on his part.

I ummm think he is trying to let citizens provide for their own defense and keep the government out of it. I see a typical liberal that thinks the government can adequately provide that protection....which is a historically proven fact that they can't. Illogical thinking at it's finest

I see the parts of society where gun carrying is allowed being much more civilized than the parts where guns are banned and I see respectful armed citizens as opposed to the lawless cowards flourishing in the gun ban areas. You a criminal by chance?

You are right your post is pure BS

    Fellow Liberal!

I had you pegged for a right winger.

Well, to be fair, I did it based on one post and I only have an 93% accuracy rate on one post assessments, so I'll with hold judgement for until I see a couple more from you.

I've got an RCBS Rock Chucker that is covered in dust.

    And I seldom carry.

It's not that comfortable in this hot humid climate.

I got into shooting at the range with friends from work back about 10-15 years ago, but it got boring after a while so I don't go much now.

I've shot a grand total of one round in the past year.

I had an old computer hard drive I wanted to dispose of.

I tried putting it down on my driveway and beating it with a hammer, but I was afraid that if I hammered too hard it would crack my concrete.

Then I tried drilling thru it but my drill bits were too worn out.

So I figured I'd shoot it with my .357 magnum on the 4th, when I had plenty of cover noise from all the fireworks going on.

I was planning on putting it down on the ground and putting two or three factory rounds through it, but I forgot how loud that (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) was.

The first round was about 10 times as loud as the neighborhood fireworks noise and so I quit, figuring any more would bring the Cops down on my ass.

It did make a nice neat hole in one side of the drive, and a big ass messy one where it went out the other side so I figured that would be good enough.

The problem is time. A criminal isn't going to give you much warning. Typically you will have only a couple of seconds to react. Less-lethal (Non-lethal is a misnomer. Pepper spray can kill too.) Sprays are close range devices, as are all other less-lethal devices. You only get one chance and if they don't work, you have lost. Guns are fast and effective, but a person must get proper training, both in law and gun handling.

Training.........lol...........you could not be more right. But I disagree that it should have government interference. Most gun shops I visit ask if a customer if familiar with the firearm they are purchasing and encourage safety always. One guy has been offering additional gun safety courses with every new gun he sells, free of charge. He shows them how to tear it down and put it back together, how to keep to clean and offers advice for storage.
It is usually the idiots or gangbangers that don't know how to use, clean, and store properly.
I think the greatest myth of all comes right straight out of Hollywood.......every action movie they produce has a constant barrage of misrepresentation about the social context of firearms, and the rest of the world sees these movies and wonders how close it is to real life. It isn't anywhere near to real life. But some people just have to believe that our whole entire culture is represented by Hollywood. The less education one has makes it easier to believe that is the way it is, over here.

I wish that were true. Unfortunately my experience has given me a more pessimistic outlook on education. Michael Moore is a perfect example. I can't even count the number of educated people, that mindlessly believed everything in his films.

Next time just locate the screws. Loosen them. Remove the shiny discs and then destroy those with the implement of your choosing...hammer, sand paper, concrete, whatever.

Pepper spray and tasers are not non-lethal. They are less lethal. They can both kill.

Firearms are appropriate to use against deadly force assaults. That's why people carry them. They are concerned with car jacking, armed robbery, etc.
Many do carry pepper spray, etc. but they are not guaranteed to work.

I think carrying a non-lethal option is a great idea. Yeah tasers only have one or two-shots, but stun guns are unlimited & much cheaper.

Even if someone doesn't have any non-lethal option, the shooter could miss, thereby causing the criminal to be scared & stop doing their crime & run away, without having to kill or seriously injure the criminal. But I don't mean "warning shots" nooo nooooo nooo, because respecting peoples' life is apparently frowned upon by the legal system & police, so one would never fire a warning shot, only an unintended miss.

What if a criminal is surrendering, either to gunpoint, or even a non-lethal weapon, or even just someone physically holding them for the police -- maybe people should carry restraints too?

real perplexing...how about if the criminals just stop being criminals and that includes the damned police too, then there would be no reason to even carry potentially lethal electrical devices.
