Why does it really matter?

 

It doesn't matter to you if your tax dollars help to pay for free abortions in other countries?

 

It depends on how important of an ally the other country is to us.

 

So you don't mind helping to pay for women's abortions in other countries, but you want to criminalize them for women in the US...

 

I don't support America paying for women's abortions in other countries. This isn't even an issue. besides, sending foreign aid to other countries does not necessarily fund abortions.

 

So you support abortion if it's convenient for you?

 

Nope. However, giving foreign aid to another country does not necessarily fund their abortions.

 

You support government giving financial aid to another government which provides free abortions IF the other country is an important ally. That sounds like a matter of convenience to me.

Please explain how it's not all right for our government to partially fund Planned Parenthood because they provide abortions although no government money is allowed to pay for abortions, but our government can fund another country where the money can be spent on abortions.

 

Maybe the money isn't being spent on abortions.

 

We know the Planned Parenthood money isn't spent on abortions because it is accounted for, but you want to just hand over money to a country that provides free abortions because it's convenient for YOU.

 

There's always a chance that they may use that money for other purposes. However, I don't believe that we should give foreign aids to "help out "other countries with their abortion programs.

 

So if that country will fight your wars, the issue of abortion goes on the backburner?

Another country fighting in wars with us could help save the lives of American soldiers. Besides, just because we give foreign aid to pro-choice countries which pay for abortions with government funds, this does not mean that our funds are directly paying for their abortions.

 

Another country fighting a war with you could save American soldiers? Who cares - what about the soldiers of that other country who are being killed because you lot started a war with a country you can't win again?

Now I hate the idea of having to pay taxes that are used to pay for free rides for slackers but I have no issue with my tax money being used to help those who are truly in need.

My question is....why would you be against a poor woman being able to get Birth Control Pills for free or by paying a small co-pay?

I mean by her taking the pills it eliminates the chance that she would get an abortion....and as well the pills would prevent her from having a kid and thus having another welfare supported child?

Me too, although for different reasons. Having the government exclusively fund Planned Parenthood hurts smaller family planning facilities since it gives larger corporations like PP a huge advantage over those which don't receive government funding. The fact is, Planned Parenthood can easily survive without the funding and if the funding were cut it would allow other family planning centers to organically replace PP.

 

Oh...OK....the reason I asked if because what it say's on the bottom of the picture of that woman you posted on page 2 of this topic.
