He seems to be far more in touch and less stuffy than previous Popes. I like his body language.

    .

I think this is correct, for they became homosexuals not because they choose it,
it is simply innate and hereditary.

This is in correlation with the previous statement, but it depends how grave is the sin and the laws of God and that of man should act upon it, the church in each teachings could condone
but the laws of the land should be imposed as well.

    John 1:29
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.

Perhaps focus on stopping female genital mutilation first. Cant expect full rights immediatly for Subhumans such as woman :p

This is a pretentious thread. How does the pope's statement contradict what the Catholic church already teaches?

If anything, it reveals the world's ignorance of Catholic teaching.

If anything, it's even more weird to allow a gay guy before a lady.

The Pope seems to be saying what the Catholic Church has officially taught for a while now, so I am not sure why this is big news. The Catholic Church stills says women cannot be priests, and still says homosexual acts are sinful.

Very important statement from the pope. I'm sure the church is beginning to realise that it's now a case of adapt or die.

I'm pretty sure the bible judges homosexuals harshly. So is this new pope going against the bible?

Church spread deviant behavior. Mexicans claim that having anal sex with a Priest is not a
    homosexual act.

    No

"He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

    and all that.

All you did was cherry pick. There are verses which state homosexuality is a sin, even deserving of stoning. I think Leviticus is the one with the harshest language. What about Sodom and Gomorrah?
On what basis does a Christian ignore that? Old Testament doesn't apply? I hear that alot. The New Testament is the new covenant?

How long will he be saying that, I don't know. But maybe he is doing a good job after all.

You'll hear that a lot whenever something tricky crops up. Suddenly the Old Testament is no longer relevant, despite its being a part of the Bible.

Talk about Cherry Picking.....anyone who brings up Leviticus when trying to support the Bibles...either has never read it, or avoids all shellfish, makes their own clothes, and has no children.

Im an atheist but that would seem to be just what the bible says.

    Ephesians 2
15 by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.

    Hebrews 8
13 By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

    Romans 10
4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.(*)

    Romans 7
6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

    2 Corinthians 3
13We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. 14But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.

Galatians 3 13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

23Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ[h] that we might be justified by faith. 25Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law(*)

    Matthew 5:
38 You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
39 But I say to you, Do not resist the evil man [who injures you]; but if anyone strikes you on the right jaw or cheek, turn to him the other one too.
40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your undershirt (tunic), let him have your coat also.
41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].
42 Give to him who keeps on begging from you, and do not turn away from him who would borrow [[a]at interest] from you.
    43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy;
44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Its a literal interpretation of the bible. As opposed to a twisted and tortured interpretation of the bible.
