There has to be an invisible sun
That gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
That gives us hope when the whole day’s done
(from the song by The Police)

The song was written as a reaction of wonder about how people can bear to cope with the devastating conditions of war as in the situation in Ireland around 1980.

It conveys one aspect of an invisible sun. A hint of others is in Joshua 10:12-14, in which he went to break the enemy siege of a city, but the distractions are not so conducive to perception.

Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hastened not to go down about a whole day.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord harkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

The veiled message in the above is overshadowed by astronomical absurdities. Isaiah 60:19-20 is more to the point.

The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy morning shall be ended.

Thus, should we focus on the Big Guy at the top, or His equivalent Son, in order to get inducted into Heaven?

Wasn't this song written by the same guy who wrote the following line?
"You could say I lost my belief in the holy church" (If I Ever Lose My Faith I You)

Yes, per wikipedia, Sting was the source of both songs, but the latter was one of his last to make the hit list in the U.S., when he was no longer in The Police. Timeline something like 1981 versus 1994.
