Looks like you agree that only progressive policies work. Why then aren't you a progressive? Obamacare didn't kick in yet. It will be several years until its effectiveness can be determined. The stimulus plan was woefully inadequate. Real progressive like Paul Krugman wrote extensively about that fact. MASSIVE spending is necessary to get out of a Republican depression, if history is any guide.
I've come up with a few more. 1. Boots on the ground. This means that your children are about to die, that is, children progressives are forced to pretend that they care about to gain your vote. 2. Bipartisan. This is like political courage in that you are about to get screwed, only, with political courage progressives have no intention of ever being elected to office again. When they are bipartisan, however, they fully expect to get elected again because you don't fully realize how you are getting screwed. 3. Red Line This term is still in progress of being defined. Currently it is only used to deride and poke fun at progressives, however.

Indeed. Progressives policies never fail because they if they fail they simply have not been done on a large enough scale or implemented in the right way. There is no "fail" in the term progressive. They have evolved far enough to overcome human failure so they will continue to implement failed programs until they work.

Laws by nature restrict our freedoms, that is why conservatives are so averse to passing them, or if they do, they do so with great trepidation. After all, if men were angels there would be no need for laws. Laws should only be enacted to protect men from harming their fellow man, not to imprison them with a bureaucratic state. In fact, last year alone the government passed over 40,000 new regulations and laws. Did some good from them? I'm sure there was, in fact, the odds of some benefit occuring are in your favor. However, the evil and destruction they cause will be glibly ignored. Case in point is the war on poverty. Sure, some people were helped by it, but looking at poverty today and poverty when it was enacted under LBJ it would appear we are worse off than before some $16 trillion dollars in debt later.
