Satan cannot act outside of God's will.
Satan must ask God for permission.
    God created Satan.
God know what Satan will do.

So where is the problem? Are there any answers that do not render God either too stupid or incompetent to handle creation?

God loves even Satan. You forget about love.

So then we should love and embrace Satan?

Genuine love is always in line with God's love. Yes--we should love Satan as God loves Satan--just as we should love all sinners. Loving genuinely does not mean one approves of the choices an individual makes. We love God in them. Satan rejected God; God did not reject Satan but allows him freedom--just as He allows each of us freedom.

god and satan are myths, so I take it you're asking for insight into the stories?

Well, that's fails to address the OP.

No, simply pointing out contradictions in logic.

I am certainly aware of the myths. ;)

Flicka, it's a bit rich to introduce the idea of love in a thread about religion :)

Actually it does. It specifically fails to address the problem of evil.

Do I show love for people by condoning or allowing the holocaust?

    Yes or no.

All sentients have a free will
you don;t have to ask God in order to act with your free will

All beings are born into God's Creation with a free will... hopefully you are not implying that God coerced Satan to be evil
    .

It doesn't matter...the point is ,with a free will one gets to choose....dem's da rules...

you don't seem to understand what life and free will implies ....

You do realize as an eternal being humans life span on earth is but a blip in time.
and yet each individual , no matter what time is allotted them, gets to use their free will which will decide their future.

some are lucky and live for only a few secounds and then onto life everlasting....without the blemish of sinning....

It's like what would you do if your Son disrespects you and went astray,
do you have to kill him?.
What GOD did with the situation about satan is that he made an example out of him,
it is apparent how ugly and destructive evil deeds are and thus should not be emulated and followed.

Speaking of contradictions in logic, as I always have to point out to you pompous cynics....

What is the definition omnipotent? Can you tell me? Well, let's consult our good friends at dictionary.com, shall we?

Cool. So now that we've gotten that squared away, what does this mean? Well, for one thing, it means that by definition God must be able to operate within paradoxes because anything less ceases to be omnipotence, doesn't it? Do you see the problem with your argument yet? You are attempting to limit omnipotence to only that which you are able to comprehend. Which is finite.

This is why people like you make me laugh. You think you're so clever with all of your snarky little "gotcha" questions, but you don't even realize that all you're really doing is making a bang-up case for why pride is a sin. Because it makes you think you're smarter than you really are.

ah yes, the old defence when confronted by rude logic. your small human mind cannot comprehend my god. and as per the time honoured tradition, the special (saved) people understand precisely not only what god is, but what he thinks of anal sex and birth control. (*)(*)(*)(*)ing marvellous.

    @ dr dred

only someone with a heart of stone cold blackness could possibly think that the death of a newborn baby is "lucky". with theists saying such things out loud, religion will die out far sooner than we could have hoped for.

    Lucifer - the light bringer
Eosforos (Greek) - the light bringer

Yep it traces back to Prometheus myth , god's trooper betrays his master by giving fire to humans and gets punished for eternity.

I suppose the reason you "Know" what God thinks about anal sex would be that you have found the Apocraphies hidden gospel on the subject.....Johnson 15:4 was a really strange read especially this part:

and the lord did smight the fudge packers, yea the brown stained penis was cursed to limpness for all eternity and never to make babies or be glorfied by the womans mouth.

You should read the gospel of Mary on this subject....she was obviously pretty pissed.

Strangely....there is indeed a seldom seen (and likely purposefully hidden passage):

    وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ

Translation: The infidel butt play was deemed worthy of the greatest of punishments, and many peckers were crushed between large stones for the glory of Allah.

Irony abounds in the way you end this post. The only argument theists have against the little "gotcha" questions is "no one is smart enough to understand God, now sit back and let me tell you all about God". Either we can know God and your religion therefore has meaning or we cannot know God and your religion means nothing.

But since you brought it up help me make one thing perfectly clear.

Are humans smart enough to comprehend God?

Is the knowledge provided to us in the bible a tool we can with our limited comprehension use to better understand God and his will?

If we cannot use our merely human understanding to realize that God is evil how can we use it to realize that he is good?

Please show us how having faith in something you cannot even comprehend is the positive position to take logically or otherwise.

Theists tend to go out of their way to prove that ignorance is bliss. Prove me wrong.

Paradox of the stone, the premise of your argument is a fallacy.

Free will does not exist with a god. Free will is merely an illusion as all choices are already known and pre-determined.

    God destroys free will.
    Free will destroys god.

You can't have it both ways.

    Not necessarily 'pre-determined'

Sure you can - there's nothing that could prevent a God from creating 'free will' as a concept, rather than simply "pre-determining" all actions
