The question is what religion do you affiliate with yourself?

5th choice for me. Though at times I sway into Deism.

True Godhead is transcendent, neither singular nor plural, neither existent nor non-existent, both everything and nothing.

To insist otherwise is to place limits on the divine, a futile and ineffectual act of human arrogance.

Agnosticism. I have no personal belief in a specific God or religion, which technically makes me an atheist, though I do keep an open mind and drift towards a Deistic "prime mover" outlook from time to time. Ultimately I don't think humans have the ability to even understand the concept of the kind of God that might exist. It would be like a cat trying to figure out how to drive a car, or even understanding the concept of the car.

I have a new fundamentalist version of Christianity that acknowledges that the Earth was made three days ago.

No I wasnt trying to say that what happened is when you create a poll you do the thread first than the poll, after submitting the thread I had to do something and when I came back I didnt read the question again so I posted poll answers to a different, yet of course very similar, question. The real question is essentially what religious/spiritual label do you fall under. On top of that as someone else pointed out, none of those are religions so saying you wont vote because atheism is not a religion while not mentioning none of them are religions shows even you make mistakes lol try not to take the question so literal most people knew what I was asking and simply answered.

fair enough....atheism isn't religious or spiritual

theism and deism both include religion ....

I don't know you or the intent of your question... it's routine on this forum for the extreme right to label atheism or science as religions...now that you've clarified your position I can answer the poll...

I object to atheism and agnosticism being listed as religions. Even deism is kind of doubtful, as I don't see how one in any way honors a god or gods as a deist.

I dunno. I guess a deist would be religious in some sense, to some degree.

Just because I put it in the selection doesnt mean im saying its a religion, even if I was to of asked "What religion do you belong to?" and you say you "Im an atheist" it doesnt mean you are saying that atheism is a religion because the term itself says essentially that you are not religious which is still a valid answer to the question. Also I am curious, how are you absolutely positive there is no God? You didnt choose the "Agnostic with a heavy lean towards atheist option" so I can only imagine that is what you think? I highly doubt there is a God, but its very arrogant to say you know for a fact there is no God.

As for the right labeling it as a religion you are completely right, but you dont have to worry about that from me I am pretty far left.

    edit:
My name is entirely sarcastic, I am not in favor of conquering in the name of God :weed:

Were it not for the personalities of those who claim to be Christian...I might go there, as it seems a pleasant place to be.

Unfortunately....they ruin the whole thing for me.

Absolutely correct. But atheist thinking is strongly opposed to delusion, and thus makes it a powerful voice in the religious debate.

Anti-theist can be very evangelical about it.

So lack of religion and the strong belief that that is the proper way to live enters very much into the religious sphere.

The OP just made a little mistake in the wording of the thread/poll.

I actually fall somewhere between Theism and Deism, with strong affinities to Baha'i thought.

I am a Christian so I guess I fall under theism. Being disciplined isn't easy and I find myself giving into old behavior that doesn't please God.

I need to stay in fellowship with like minded individuals or I find myself backsliding. If we so called Christians sit on the fence, we're the ones God says he will spit out of his mouth. How scary is that? Pretty tough claiming to be a Christian because we have to walk the talk.

insisting that religion play no part in a secular society isn't evangelical it's common sense...

I don't give my lack of religion a seconds thought, it's a non-issue, so not religious at all...it's only an issue with religious people who object to my insistence that they keep their religion to themselves...

I had expected a poll with the choices catholic/protestand/sunni/shia/hindu etc based on the title. Kind of misleading. I'm a number 5 anyways.
