The Earth was created by the Mosth High to take care of itself. the only thing the Earth Worshippers got right is that the Earth is a living thing. an actual LIVING thing. but it never needed our help to fix it's problems. NEVER. and it never will.

Go learn ANYTHING about Wiccas or Buddists and then we'll talk. Because I have a feeling if you knew anything about them or religion in general you wouldn't need to ask this question.

Actually I take that back, you probably still would.

What is the Earth's natural process for cleaning up enriched plutonium?

    Buddhists worship the Earth?

    Who knew.

Why am I accused of strawmen with threads like this?

My thought exactly. They don't. Neither do Scientologists as far as I know.
The link between the religions/cults mentioned and alluded to is not earth-worship, I wonder if there is any common ground between them? Perhaps it's that they do not believe in creator gods?

People should do a little research and demonstrate they know at least the basics about a subject before starting a thread.

Then why would Messiah Jesus/ Yeshua inspire John to make a prediction about the Messiah destroying those who destroy the earth.......if human beings did not have any capability of destroying the earth???!!!

    Rev 11:18
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

This again? They are a religious organisation. They are based around a religion. That they are much more concerned with money and their criminal activities does not change that fact.

    ...just like the Catholic Church?

Is there also a tradition of organised, institutionalised child abuse within Scientology?

    Overstated.
They did, however, have an organized cover-up, I'll grant you that.
The abusers themselves, though, were clearly freelancing.
I don't think they were teaching child abuse at Boston College.

looks pretty organised, institutional and with a 'tradition' of decades at the least to me:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Church_sexual_abuse_scandal_in_Ireland
    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/dec/16/children-dutch-catholic-institutions-abused

Re. the OP, isn't this an earthly problem which needs "fixing" by us citizens, rather than delegating it to some god?

Wow!!! That's a lot of words and efforts you've put into this!
How does this deplorable practice compare to the sexual and other institutional abuse perpetrated by the Catholic Church for decades if not centuries? Which, by the way, I haven;t read a word of condemnation from you about.
How does it relate to "earth worship", to link back to the subject?

None of these citations show any institutional plan to abuse children, but confirm an institutional cover up.
What did you think they showed?
The cover up is just as bad, but there is no evidence that the church itself was involved in encouraging the initial abuses of the children. That was an individual choice by men with opportunity. The church made the arguably even worse decision of hushing it up and keeping the clergy in circulation.

I got into Wicca for a short while mostly because of a girl that I liked. I gave up on that one after reading a story about Aleister Crowley who the story says appeared at a dinner party wearing a long flowing cape. He flitted around the room cackling to himself. Someone asked what that was about to which another responded, "Oh that's just Aleister. He's being invisible again!" I figured if the great AC couldn't work a real invisibility trick there probably was about as much validity to Wicca as there was to Christianity.

Although I still think the tarot can be insightful. If only because it can cause you to consider a problem from an angle you otherwise would not have considered. Though some last vestige of superstition is still holding on by its fingernails in the deep recesses of my psyche. I'd still like to believe in such things. But logic tells me otherwise.

    Lets see

    You said

    I said
    You said

So I posted a link demonstrating that there is organised institutionalised child abuse in Scientology as you requested.

So having fulfilled your entire request of me instead of just saying

    and moving on

    We get

    1) Sarcastic insult
I put in just as many words as were needed.

    2) Non Sequiter
Since I never claimed it did unfavorably compare to Catholic institutionalized abuse this is a complete non sequiter. There clearly IS institutional child abuse in Scientology.

HOWEVER a) at least the Catholic church has admitted there is a problem which is the first step wheras the Scientologists deny any wrongdoing

    and

    b) the Roman Catholic church is a vastly larger organisation than Scientology with many thousand times the number of children in its care. I am an atheist and not proRoman Catholic, indeed very Critical of Roman Catholicism, at all but I would suggest that Children under the care of scientology are vastly more likley to be the subject of institutional abuse than Roman Catholic Children are. As it happens I was a pupil at a Roman catholic primary school AND I am an abuse survivor as a result. I am defintely no friend of Roman Catholicism but I think my fellow survivors of scientology have, on average, had it worse, especially in the past 20 years.

    3 This odd complaint

Why do I have to complain about the Roman catholic church before informing you that there is Institutionalized child abuse in Scientology.

    4)and lastly this rejoinder
WHy are you asking me? I didn;t start this sub talk on Scientology and Roman Catholicism.

If it's been perpetrated in an organised way for decades, it's institutional - and the cover-up adds even more evil to it.

Sigh, a link doesn't replace your elaborating, which you failed to do.

I haven't said you did (claim), I asked a question. Relax.

Ok, thanks for sharing. I appreciate this personal experience and view.
I wasn't sure where your comment was coming from, thanks for clarifying.

Just getting back on topic, perhaps you or someone else has some thoughts about how abuse in religion relates to earth worship or an authoritarian father god?

Where is the evidence that the abuse itself was organized?
