We had give-and-take during the debate to pass the Affordable Care Act. That's why we don't have a single-payer system or universal healthcare.

As for the "dictatorial rule." What a load of horse(*)(*)(*)(*).

The ACA was passed by the House.
The ACA was passed by the Senate
The ACA was signed by the President.
The ACA was upheld as Constitutional by a right leaning SCOTUS.

Learn to live with it because it's going to be around for a while. I can't confidently say the same thing about the t-party.

In 2008, democrats were brought into both houses on a massive mandate, and Obamacare passed despite more filibusters than at any previous time. In 2012, the republicans ran a campaign based largely on "repeal obamacare" and lost. Obamacare was taken to court and was upheld. "Give and take"? No. What's going on here is a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hostage situation.

No. You fail completely at reading comprehension. His point is, quite clearly, that compromise at this point is encouraging bad behavior, and that there's no reasonable justification for letting the republicans dictate which parts of the government do and do not get funded.

And this is depressing, because when the republicans hold the nation's credit rating hostage, again, in three or four weeks, you're not going to understand how it isn't a bipartisan effort then either.
