http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko-gP0tpqCM John Wayne in 1974. Who knew he was a racist, right winged, extremist?
What a breath of fresh air John was compared to stars in Hollywood we have today like Tom Hanks who thinks that Obama should ignore the law.......again......and run for a third term. Stupid is as stupid does I suppose.
I think he was joking considering he said that at a PR event for the opening of his movie about the somali pirates taking that ship a few years back. He also made fun of Congress for not seeing his movie.
I never understood why people put so much stock into what any actors have to say. I pay attention to what real people say and what happens to them.
He was born in 1907 and dies just 4 years after that tape was made in 1975. He sounded as out of it as the Democrats resident KKK Grand Cyclops Robert Byrd.
Would you blame him if he was? - - - Updated - - - Character assassination. A favorite tool of the left. Speaking of tools........
Exxxacccctttlyyyyy. Liberal voters already defend The President as he diminishes their freedoms. They wear t-shirts and wave flags celebrating some of the most brutal tyrants in history. They would have no problem supporting a complete dissolution of the republic in favor of a socialist monarchy under King Obama. That is of course until they got a first had look at what it really means to live in a state controlled society. Most liberals would be shocked to learn that all of the things they wildly rant against exist in amplified fashion under the type of tyrannical regime they want. Those evil 1%'ers and those evil rich corporations, ya they're still around except now they are the government. You still wont be handed your "fair share" without earning it, except now you couldn't earn it even if you wanted to because the state imposes wage normalization in order to keep the population at homogenized at the lowest common denominator. Even after witnessing an example like that liberals wouldn't fully understand how bad it was. They would have ago out and try to "occupy" something expecting police to just stand there in a non-violent line. They would be completely shocked to find that in the totalitarian government they so happily ushered in the punishment for questioning government ranges from life imprisonment to death.
Perhaps you should look into John's military record then, before you start with the personal attacks.
Dude. Don't go there. I'm a left wing Canadian and I loved John Wayne. Character assassination is not becoming. Fight the good fight.
Is it character assassination if it's true? No. Same can be said for Bob Barker & David Letterman. But I guess back then times were different and women had less rights. Is that Bryan McCabe with a mohawk?
How old are you? Early twenties maybe? C'mon. Brutal tyrants - who? Name one? Socialist monarchy? Are you referring to communism because socialism works without a dictatorship. It's called a social democracy. Ever heard of France, Germany, Italy? Have you ever been outside the US? Don't make it so easy. Have an argument next time. - - - Updated - - - yeah. I'm amazed you recognized McCabe.
What character assassination? The little pansy was afraid he would not be able to re-start his movie career after one major role (Stage Coach.) And yet the right dumps on a real hero like Eddie Albert. Go figure.
Dude, John Wayne was a good person - Republican or Democrat. When Barbara Walters was getting hell when she first started on TV because of her lisp, John Wayne sent her a telegram. He was a big star at the time. It said, don't let the bastards get you down. She said it helped her immensely. Only a good person could have sent that telegram. BTW. Love your signature. I might steal it
Jimmy Stewart is a real man. He wasn't a war dodging (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) who just played hero on screen. He put his life on the line for his country. John Wayne wouldn't even risk his movie career. He wasn't a real man's man.,
Oh save it. I can already tell you're a faux left winger and a Harper supporter. John Wayne was a hypocrite of major proportions by dodging his duties to fight war while pretending to be some war hero on screen. He even had the audacity to insult actual actors who served their country during war. A real war. He also said racist things about blacks, asians, hispanics and native americans. And you look up to this man who would likely support the tea party if he were alive? You aren't a Canadian left winger.
