Does it say anything about deductibles or out of pocket...Having $8400 on annual payments and then having to spend another $4K on deductibles before the plan pays anything is hardly a great deal. Maybe her expensive previous coverage actually paid for health care....

 

Not enough information in that story to tell anything. Was it a bronze, silver, gold, platinum plan? What were the deductibles? What is her out of pocket compared to her previous plan? Who knows.

Now, the real problem with the story is that she is 59, has minor health issues that did not qualify before, which means she is the motivated buyer. The plan needs the young and healthy to sign up and if only her type do, Obamacare is doomed.

 

At least they have an excuse, what's yours?

226 enrolled in Colorado the first week. 226, out of 5+ million in our state, and over 162,000 website visits. 0.1% of those visiting the website enrolled. Obama is telling us almost half a million enrolled nationwide????? If we extract the Colorado numbers out, it would be about 14,000 enrolled. I'm not buying Obama's numbers.

Keep in mind that an application can represent more than one person (spouse, households). Half a million applications submitted could mean one million people.

Funny how the media is spinning that negative. Even with the federal website glitches, the demand is huge, and hundreds of thousands have already submitted applications or are fully enrolled in a plan.

The numbers aren't directly comparable, as they mainly cover reports from states that have set up their own exchanges (not federal numbers), and includes Medicaid expansion from ACA.

Those numbers are not people who enrolled for the most part... that is why there are so many disclaimers on your "good resource". They are people who completed applications so they could see how much it cost. They deliberately removed the ability to find this out right before rollout. It was re-added today. The media isn't spinning anything negative. They began spitting out all these numbers like they were told... and then have come to understand that these numbers are bogus.

People have signed up... but it is looking like about 50k, not 500k.
