Are you saying that who put it in place makes it cheaper or more expensive ... Because otherwise out of control spending is what it is and needs to be fixed? You are the one that has let emotion along with the lack of reality get the better of you ... Blaming someone never fixes a problem.
"My Heroes" in the stench that I the US Political system of demented Religious idiots. Hello, sunshine the US Imperialism is DYING ,UNCLE Sam is an Insane geriatric trying to live in Past glory ,my heroes ,Human Vomit the lot of them!
How about this, under Clinton and Obama the deficit has declined nearly every year. Under Reagan and the Bushes, it increased nearly every year. Maybe we shouldn't blame Republicans, but when we have a Republican president the problem gets worse. And when we have a Democrat in the White House, it improves. So if you really are concerned with the debt, write a check out to the Democratic National Committee, and work for Democratic candidates.
So? Do you have a car loan or mortgage? Then its quite clear that you spent more than you have and if this was such a terrible thing you wouldn't have taken out a loan at all.
Spending has been cut three of the past four years, and is now lower than it was in 2009, according to Heritage estimate. That is unprecented in modern history. We are now spending, proportionate to GDP, the same or less than most years Reagan was president. But revenues remain, relative to GDP among the lowst levels of the past 60 years. If you are really concerned about the debt, and not just flapping your gums for political nonsense, write your Tea Party Reps to compromise on a revenue increase to get a budget deal done.
I write a big enough check that ends up in Washington ... No more money from me. There is nothing the Democrats want from me other than more money anyway ... They should learn to live with what they get already.
We are projected to be 20 trillion dollars in debt by the time that Obama oozes from office, but what worries me is will the Republican president who replaces him be one iota more fiscally responsible? Obama merely continued (with a steroid injection) what Bush began. So the big question is, HAS the GOP finally learned the lesson that the DEM leadership refuses to learn?
Oh dear God! Psssst . . . the national debt is NOT the same thing as the budget deficit. Oh dear oh deary me . . . no it certainly is not!
Begging for help is what babies do when they cry ... Not people who can take care of their own needs. Sounds like the you got that ass-backwards ... But nothing unusual about that.
Well, if the only had closed the barn door when their guy was doing it, we MIGHT be somewhere by now but, mum was the word, and inaction was the game. The horse has long since gone.
Ah so you just suffered the mental equivalent of an involuntary physical spasm and tossed the irrelevance out there just to toss it?
What irrelevance? The OP said that, "We are spending over a trillion dollars a year we dont have." Money that we don't have is the deficit. The deficit is not over one trillion dollars.
The right is always welcome to lead the charge in lowering spending by ending our exorbitantly expensive, War on Drugs.
What happened during Bush's Presidency is his and what Obama did was Obama's. The massive increase in spending in 2009 by the fake Stimulus spending bill and the bail outs of the GM and Chrysler Union contracts which blew the established budget wide open, was entirely a concoction of Obama and the Democrats. He owns that.
In response to the Great Bush Depression of 2008 that was left at Obama's doorstep when he came in. Bush owns THAT.
Well, I guess it would be better to go into more debt by pursuing more conflict and war. But what do you expect democrats to go in debt for? Why is it Ok for a republican to push the US into more debt, but a horrible thing if a democrat does? We were going down this road for eight years before Obama took office.
A Conservative would have turned the economic downturn into a two year correction instead of a gigantic and massive deficit addition for socialist programs.
