The implication was that we will be open to doing very bad things under the influence of Lust. This explains the serial killers and perverts who really hurt people in sex crimes.

Personally i've always considered Satan as a figurative way to depict the potential evil inside men, a destructive, nihilistic energy opposed to the other side of human beings, the constructive and peaceful one. Two energies in a constant balance with each other since the very beginning of men. That's much like yin and yang. If you look at God VS Satan this way you understand why following god in abrahamic religions is non questionably the right choice and satan is the absolute wrong one. Simple said, one means human race will evolve peacefully and grow strong, the other means humans will hate each other and try to destroy themselves, so the self annihilation of human race, the creation most dear to god, can be seen as satan's final intent and pleasure. This is how people should look at abrahamic religion imho.

It's always the duality, God vs. Satan like Good vs. Evil, but that is false dichotomy because the duality is in God just as symmetry of living things, left hands and right hands, etc. Of course, the supernatural is also misunderstood by people who want for there to be some kind of extra space or dimension to fill out that is beyond the reach of whatever natural powers in the world, and that maybe construed as imagination. But, there is a force that has been called "the prince of the air", as if the devil was the atmosphere of the planet, like the environment. If you can see past the cartoon of pop culture, you can see there is Satan in lots of things because it's all about conflicts and the adversarial systems. British parliament, that is a satanic institution where the Opposition party is set up against the Government party. Congress is virtually the same, derived from that form. Courts of law, it's plaintiff vs. defendant. Sporting evens, there's football or baseball, basketball, all kinds of games, one team vs. the other. People are childish towarda an important argument involving human nature and balance of things. Many laugh at god and satan because they imagine them like one good old man with a beard and the other a goat like demon. You think they are childish because you don't understand the actual meaning of god and satan. I gave you an explanation earlier in my post so i hope nobody will come out anymore with something like: " hey lol if god is omnipotent why doesn't he buy me a big car and get me a chick ti bang?
