I figured Obama lost some world credibility with the Snowden incident and especially when Putin stepped in with Syria. Looks like Obama's tough guy act with letting the government shutdown didn't help him either.

SO you support a dictator like Putin I see. Not surprising he fits your warped ideology perfectly.

Putin was elected in a democratic election and had a greater plurality than Obama.

You are aware aren't you that the Berlin Wall fell?

The USSR is gone and Russia is a four party democracy now. Freedom won, whereas in the United States you can be spirited away to a torture facility in Cuba and it is expected that the government is spying on you and all their friends.

Things have changed. There's books on it.

That is a horribly written article. It should read who is more "influential" not powerful as what is does list is how Putin has influenced things whereas Obama has tried to force his agenda and lost.

There's not as a little Red Bating in there....'autocratic leader" more easily applies to a president who has abused executive order, obstructed congress and bypassed them whenever possible.

Yeah it's surrealistic considering that during my little piece of the Cold War I once had the dubious honor of being one of the personnel who would have launched nuclear armed missiles at the old Soviet Union had things gone really bad. Now I look at new Russia and there are times when it seems to be a cleaner democracy in action than the United States has become. That's really disturbing in one way and somehow reassuring in another. Political evolution and devolution occurring in real time between the two former enemy nations. Fascinating!

Putin is the most prominent right-wing leader on Earth. I support everything he has done and I will support everything that he will do in the future.

Putin is a Little Boy who lost his big rattle so now he bullies the people in his own country to build him a bigger rattle.

    Do I support Putin? No.

Do I wish American had a leader with big brass ones like Putin has instead of the disgusting wuss currently occupying that office and getting walked over by leaders of other nations? You bet'cha.

Although I am an Independent...if you recall shortly after Putin and Obama met and talked about Syria...a deal was made that allowed Russia to complete it's missile sale to Syria after which the Russsian Ships delivering those missiles then picked up all Russian's in Syria.

    They LEFT.

I traveled behind the "Iron Curtain" to Lech Walensa's Poland under the Soviets. The last time I flew in US airspace, something I will NEVER do again, I realized that I got into and OUT OF Poland and East Germany in the cold war with less documentation and hassle and searches than I did going 200Km to Seattle. In my time in Poland I never saw one person being harassed or checked for ID once through the frontier, I was checked, searched, checked and re-checked in one airport.

A close friend recently returned from Warsaw, Kiev and Moscow. She said it is "like Canada" now [she was born in Krakow and fled to Canada in the mid 80's] peaceful and polite; which is true, Russians are polite.

I fear that most Americans cannot see that they have become what they feared and the bid bad communists are now the good guys. Frankly, with the way Obama has been behaving on the world scene, threatening to attack anyone he pleases, I am pleased we have treaties with Russia; I no longer think belonging to NATO is in Canada's best interests. At least I can travel to Moscow with less hassle than I can to Seattle, something to think about.

    Let me get this straight.

It would seem since you don't have a reply to my post you instead are bringing up an obvious typo I have made?

Yes. The wife and I will no longer fly; and we once enjoyed the occasional air excursion. On the other hand, I do have to stop and remind myself on occasion that most of this current crop of U.S. c*rap began under Bush and nominal Republican control. I blame Obama and the Dems for making it worse, but I do remind myself that the GOP veritably leaped into action curbing things and changing things whether or not it really made any sense so to do. So I've got real problems with the leadership of both parties. I just mostly bash leftwingers because their party is in control of the nation at the moment and they are generally cheering for the very things that they once railed in rage against during the Bush administration years. That really bothers me.

I think powerful is a pretty good term although they could have used "less wimpish" but then obama would have fell far down the list. Ever since Putin made obama wear a dress he lost alot of credibility. Not to mention obama admitted being scared of his wife. What a wuss!

Lol @ this right-wing shill piece.

Obama is the leader of the most powerful country in the world, the largest economy in the world.

Putin is the leader of a nation with an economy comparable to California. Obama is on the verge of getting exactly what he wants out of Syria, and can crush that scumbag Putin like a bug.
