Not even a mention of hate crime charges in the news story? Reverse the races of victim and perps, and you'd have Al Sharpton camped out on the steps of Tacoma City Hall and WA governor Jay Inslee wringing his hands appealing for calm to quell any riots in the making.

SooooooOOooo... Because they are probably liberal/progressives, I don't care as much.

 

What about this altercation means it was racially-motivated? Did you bother to read the article? Or did you just stop once the race of both parties were apparent...

So the problem for you is not that a crime was committed, just that it was a crime committed against someone white by someone black. Had the couple been black would you have been concerned or had the perps been white would you have started the thread.

I am amazed at how many members on this forum are only concerned about crime when its committed by someone black.

 

I'm sure if 15 white kids beat 2 Black adults over a Cig it would make the news....

Its worriesome that these attacks seem to be happening more and more. Debate the race issue all you want or deflect to your hearts context but these attacks ARE happening.

I'm not clear what your point is. There's no apparent reason to assume any racial motivation in this case so your desire to see one manufactured would make you exactly as bad as the black politicians who spin up crimes with black victims and white attackers.

The alternative is that you're using this couple's suffering as a tool to throw out a general attack at people for something they do rather than focusing on challenging them when they actually do it (which certainly can and should be done), which would be somewhat lazy, dishonest and distasteful.

Neither option makes for an especially positive thread.

The thing that libs seem to forget is that any game they can think up conservatives can learn to play.

Yes there are a few very bad whites.

The slaves were treated horribly but that was a long time ago and does not entitle 15 year old black thugs to be angry at whites who have never done them any harm.

 

Well...the only two wars Canada hasn't joined the US in are Vietnam and Iraq so we're not complete fools. Oh, and we were at the end of the underground railroad so we have a few black people of our own. Because we are a less racist society, have less guns and more social programs we don't have anywhere near the same problems with our visible minorities...Oh and we're also in the G8 so we're pretty darn rich too. And here we go with allowing ourselves to follow the lead the media takes in creating hate-filled racially-baiting situations for us all to get in an uproar about on one side or the other. We've fallen for it every time and the tactic of dividing and conquering is working. Think of how angry some of us got over Trayvon, then think how many are, or are going to be, angry over this. It works beautifully when the media portrays us against each other.

There are people filled with hate everywhere, but we don't have to join them. We all know the statistics and these instances do support them. But if we're truly angry about it, shouldn't we be stomping out the hate instead of perpetuating it? Shouldn't we be angry that our own people, whichever side of the racial you fall on, are committing these crimes? Instead of us pointing the finger we'd be a lot more useful scorning our own people/race/culture/whatever group you choose to include yourselves in when these types of things happen.

Imagine if blacks spoke angrily toward other blacks when they commit crimes like this, and then whites spoke equally angrily toward whites when they happen. THAT would be far more effective than trying to blame one or the other opposite group when they happen because that just fosters more hate.

Ok, off my soapbox. This country is deteriorating from far too many angles to let race be what brings us down. It's easy to accept others, but it takes a lot of energy to hate them.
