There was no evidence that the Trayvon Martin shooting was racially motivate but blacks like Obama, spike Lee and guilt ridden white libs had no trouble jumping to conclusions.

 

Oh really ? Were the perps white, and the victims black, this would be national news already !!!!

 

If you had a larger minority base, you would have many of these same problems. It has nothing to do with your "programs".

 

Considering one fifth of our population speaks French, I think we have a pretty big minority base. And yeah, it has EVERYTHING to do with our tolerance and our programs. We don't hang people because they are different.

You haven't a clue what you're talking about...sigh. Most Canadians would have a really good laugh at you bud. French Canadians have been fighting for a long time to maintain that they are a "distinct society." They are the ones making that claim and have been since the 1970s. I never said they were racially different. I said they were a minority. Quebeckers have a completely different culture to the rest of Canada. The cultural differences are considerably greater between Canadians and Quebeckers than between white and black Americans.

We have problems. We're not perfect. I don't like bringing Canada into any argument and only do so when I'm attacked for being Canadian.

That said, Americans could learn a lot from Canada about dealing with minorities. Our biggest minority are Quebeckers who are culturally different and who speak a different language. They have fought for a "distinct society" label since the 1960s. Because they are so different and because 80% live in a different province Canada has adopted much more of a States rights approach to government. A sort of loose federalism. For the record we've had 5 French Prime Ministers. We also adopted a policy of multiculturalism where we don't try to assimilate minorities, we just let them do their thing. Multiculturalism has worked very well in Canada although it has been as a disaster in Britain. I'm not sure why although I suspect that having to deal with Quebec, we've become very accustomed to accommodating other cultures. I don't think it would work in the US, but I do believe that a loose federalism (States rights) would work wonders in the US.

You can laugh but imagine if there were 80 million Latinos in America...who didn't want to learn English. You Americans are so incredibly ignorant of other countries. It's scary.

Are you implying that we should dismiss the testimony of the attacked individuals in order to entertain your hunch? Hate crimes require some hard-hitting evidence that says race was the cause of the incident. If some wild teen was angry over a cigarette (which shouldn't be so odd to people, considering there's video of people going crazy over a messed up McDonald's orders) that's just what happened, and unfortunately this kid got other kids involved and people were hurt. I'm sorry, but your impulses don't matter.

 

Threads like this makes then less likely to get into college or get jobs. Affirmative Action is still needed because of threads like this.

These kids better be careful. Instead of picking on liberals who are too stupid to take care of themselves, they might meet up with a conservative or someone who believes in their right to protect themselves.

 

No, this is a story about how kids are cute one at a time, but if you let them run around with a large group they, like dogs and other pack animals, turn into an aggressive pack of wolves and attack people. Especially those in the upper teenage years.

 

I don't see any reason not to make it another thread on the obviously and increasingly violent subculture of black youth. If you want to call that anti-black, I consider you part of the problem. While your head is in the sand, another innocent white person gets beat to a pulp or killed for being white. This is as organized and culturally influenced and sanctioned as the 1920's lynchings. Just turn the other way. Nothing to see here.
