Group of At Takfir Wal-Hijra extremists detained in Moscow

Russia’s law enforcers last night detained a group of extremists belonging to the extremist organization At Takfir wal-Hijra in Moscow. A large amount of weapons and explosives was seized, the Interior Ministry’s press-centre said on Wednesday.

“Fourteen members of the radical extremist organization At Takfir wal-Hijra were detained in a special operation in the territory of Moscow’s eastern district on the night of November 26-27,” the Interior Ministry’s press-centre said.

A member of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami has been detained in Moscow.

The operation was carried out by police and the federal security service FSB with support from the OMON crack police force.

“In the course of searchers the operatives seized three make-shift explosive devices with fuses and stuffed with shrapnel (one of them was equipped with a belt) components of explosive devices, including detonators, cords, detonators, etc, handguns, hand grenades, cartridges and extremist literature,” the Interior Ministry said.

“According to the available information the cash raised through committing general crimes were used to finance the group,” the Interior Ministry said.

A decision to open a criminal case is about to be made.

First off thank God they caught these so called "people" before they did whatever it was they were going to do. Secondly thank God Putin will be in charge of interrogating them instead of Obama. You mention imprisoning female rock band members, but I can't imagine any rock band being so disrespectful as to do what they did. If they entered an American cathedral uninvited and started playing they would not only be arrested, but be hit with every law suit imaginable. If again it was an Evangelical Church, they would no doubt be wined and dined and encouraged to give up their sinful ways.

As for being Tatars, I doubt if they are. More than likely they are from Chechnya or Dagestan.

Since everything is relative, and since I have never heard of any brutality regarding the Russian police, and since I have heard of brutalities by other police forces such as Turkey and Egypt, I can't figure out what in the world you are talking about?
