Cruz ‘Looks Forward’ to End Of Citizenship Controversy

By Will Weissert | 01/04/14 02:26 PM ET EST
    Excerpts:

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – “Canadian-born U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has yet to renounce his Canadian citizenship as promised, but looks forward to the process being completed soon.

Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the tea party darling from Texas, said Saturday that lawyers are preparing the paperwork.

She said Cruz, who was born in Calgary, Alberta, "has been fully focused on fighting for Texans' values and interests" and that he "looks forward to the process being completed soon."

Cruz took office just last year, but is already being mentioned as a possible Republican presidential contender in 2016.

Amid questions about his eligibility, Cruz released his birth certificate in August. He also pledged to renounce his Canadian citizenship.

Fraizer's response comes after a Canadian immigration attorney said the process was simple and wondered about the delay.”

    .....

IMO: Hopefully Cruz’s application to renounce his Canadian citizenship to run for President of the United States will be turned down as being unwarranted because of an irrational desire to live in our White House, plus being an active member of a wholly unqualified radical cult, won’t help either.

As an American citizen, I would not like a Canadian by birth becoming president and espousing the Tparty crap that Cruz would undoubtedly spew in his inauguration speech while staring lovingly at his VP pick...
...Sarah Palin, ‘the b**** from Alassska’ who is a fellow Tpartier and busy cleaning her assault weapon to go hunting for bears, wolves, deer or any animal she can chase down with a low flying plane until they reach exhaustion, then shoot them dead. The Palin sport hunting at its greatest!

I for one hope that Cruz indeed runs for president.

It will help turn the GOP primaries into the traditional circus they are. This only helps democratic candidates.

There is no way that any birfer can claim that Cruz is eligible. We clearly know where both he and Obama were born. The birfers still claim that if he was born outside US territory, he is not a natural-born citizen. There is no provision for a civilian not in government service to claim natural citizenship for her child overseas, especially if she is married to a non citizen.

If the lunatics want Cruz, they had better shut up about the Obama birth certificate.

(Want to bet they are smart enough to grasp this idea?)

Of course it is. But it's that special type of hypocrisy that can only be called karma.

That and the two party system is in reality just the same party, with just a few differences between the two.

How do you define birther? Anyone who questions the president's eligibility to run? Or anyone who questions the president's eligibility to run based on the completely unsubstantiated theory that the president was born outside of the united states?

IMO, birthers were birthers because they were conspiracy theorists. They believed Obama was born outside of the US even though they had plenty of evidence showing otherwise.

It really makes no sense to make it the former since there are other ways aside from place of birth for a president to be ineligible to run. You are aware of the age requirement?

What would truly bring the LOLs would be if Trump did his fake running for president thing again early in the primaries.

    This is leftwing kook territory.

Cruz meets the qualifications to be president and if libs think they can void talking about issues they are just fooling themselves.

I guess the attacks on Obama's citizenship bothered them more than they will admit.

You are afraid of Ted Cruz and hope you can derail the debate to your silly citizenship complaint.

I praise Little Teddy, I hope he gets Sarah Palin as running mate. That would be quite a dream team.

There is no intellectual honesty on the left.

You hope to defeat Cruz's ideas throughout the politics of personal destruction.

All Ted needs to say if he runs and some reporter ask him about his place of birth is ( What Difference does it make). That should shut them up.
Thank you Hillary for that one.

You can say it and libs will but it ain't so.

The left is fraud of Ted Cruz and they want to destroy him personally because he is a threat to business as usual in Washington and the bloated welfare state.
