There is a mod that removes a lot of the console crap like the constant message popups and reminders that drove me nuts. I think its called Zippy's mod or Zaggy's mod. I google top Fary Cry 3 mods it will show up on the list. It also opens up the upgrade menu as well so you can actually avoid the main story and just focus on levelling up and exploring. You can even reset the outposts as well if I recall.

Have you played Advance Tactics? More beer and pretzel game than HOI series but still quite challenging. Russia just attacked me from the east before I had a chance to clean up France but shifting forces to counter.

Moved to XBOX 360 about a year ago. Was able to get a Microsoft FF Wheel used for racing games, not the greatest wheel I ever used but OK. Got a HORI HOTAS but was never happy due to the huge deadzone, never had that problem on PC games, and after a few months of light usage on axis died.

Reading the PS4 can use my Logitech G27 wheel and pedals, a GREAT set, and PC joysticks. So may be moving to PS4 for the next move up. The price is also a factor.

Currently playing Pikmin 3 on the Wii U. Brilliant game, would recommend everyone with a Wii U to get this.

I'm not sure the other two Wii U owners frequent this forum. :p

Mods literally add hundreds of hours of extra game play.

    ??

No its free. You must be looking at the donate option. Everything is free and in fact it is illegal to "sell" mods. If you donate to the site you get a bit more bandwidth for faster DLs and the good feeling of supporting modders but its entirely optional.

I wouldn't even be playing any of those games anymore except for the mods. :woot:

You can look at the most endorsed mods and get an idea of which ones to use. Make sure to read the first couple pages of the threads though to make sure they are up to date as some mods were made very early on in the game cycle and are out of date. Also stay away from any of the Warzones mod as they are fun to use but they are very buggy and there are alternatives that work better.

For Skyrim SkyRe or Requiem are good choices for overhauls as they cover a lot of the stuff in one mod.

For Fallout 3 FWE and for FNV Project Nevada are good starts.

oh awesome. Thanks a lot man, I will definitely look into that, especially now that I have my semi-uber rig. So nice to be able to jack Skyrim graphics from low to Ultra!!

    I'm not a fan of Battlefield 3 and 4.

Battlefield 3 had a nice engine, but as a game it fell short. I much preferred Bad Company 2. I logged hundreds and hundreds of hours on that game. Battlefield 3 I found unengaged. Too 'CODified'. I could almost feel the EA focus group designing every feature.

Have you played Just Cause 2 Multiplayer? Get that instead, it's free with a copy of the game (which is like $10 anyway) - it's exactly what a Battlefield game should be. A massive map where you're all dumped, what happens beyond that is up to you.

To be fair, I liked the linear map design of Bad Company 2, but that's because it felt authentic on a grand scale. The newer games just feel... plastic. Like they put all their money into pleasing IGN, and cheaped out when it comes to pleasing fans of the series.

I hear ya! I started with 1942 and then BF 2 and played BF3 for a min. Yeah, it got simpletonized. That's why I got into the ARMA/ARMA 2 deal... great sim with endless mod options/upgrades. BF 3 didn't allow modding IIRC...

Nope, I'll check it out thanks.

Plastic people buying plastic games paid for by plastic money begets a plastic gameplay experience. And you'd think plastic would have more plasticity... this stuff is more like bakelite.

I've been having fun on world of tanks lately. It's simple, it's arcady, but it's not a big commitment and you can learn and employ basic tanker tactics. I'm waiting for War Thunder to release their ground forces expansion since there is a "realism slider" in that game. Prolly more of a sim.

But this is fun in the meantime...

Been playing the newest Tomb Raider. Beautiful graphics. The game play tries to be open world but its just linear enough that I don't really feel compelled to go back and look for stuff. That isnt to say its a bad thing, I just find the story is engaging enough that I just want to keep going.

Yeah, I started it then the Stick of Truth pretty much body checked it down the list to play lol. All these reviews aren't really making me jump back on board with it quickly either. I really do like the sneaking aspect of it though.

I still haven't finished Nu Thief and I uninstalled it to make room for the ESO beta.

Speaking to that I played all day today and I have to say that unless this is a really old build, ESO is NOT ready to be released in 2 weeks. I have 4 quests queued that I can't even finish because the targets never spawn...........for anyone. I fully regret pre ordering it now and I cannot recommend it at this point. As I said I am hoping against hope that this is just a really old build from a couple months ago but that seems counter intuitive. The released everyone from the NDA and are actually asking people to post about their experiences so why would'nt you use anything but the latest and best build? I will obviously play my free month but at this point I will not renew it and I will pick it up again come fall or winter when they get the kinks worked out.

Don't get me wrong I love the combat and the game in general and I definitely love the soundtrack but it is not a finished product at this time. SHame because there aren't exactly a lot of first person, real time combat MMOs out there to choose from.

Recently beat Arkham City, finished all of the Halo series on Legendary (even went back to 1/2 on the original XBOX), been playing a lot of multiplayer Halo 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 online, just picked up Mass Effect 3 and Dead or Alive 5 on a whim at Walmart as they were marked down to only ten bucks each, that completes my set for Mass Effect but I still haven't beat the first one, I'm, also, in the process of beating Dark Souls, Bayonetta and The Force Unleashed, I'm so back logged though I still haven't started playing Gears of War Judgement (which when I do start it I'm going to play all the way through with no distractions before getting into the multiplayer) haven't started Dante's Inferno, Ninja Blade and a bunch of others, so many games so little time.

That (*)(*)(*)(*) looks sick, I'm waiting to September to get X-Box One as that is when Destiny drops, but Titanfall is on my list.

Unfortunately, half assed and half finished games are becoming the norm for release day. Battlefield 4 and Simcity from last year are two prime examples of total unfinished trash being released before it's ready so EA could get their money faster. Simcity was released in March of last year. I got a free copy with a video card purchase during this past Christmas and tried it out. They had STILL not fixed it. Battlefield 4 was even worse. I couldn't believe that anyone would have allowed that game to be released in the condition it was in. I lost all respect for EA. Dice makes the game but EA pulls the strings on when it gets released and a responsible company would have waited. But of course, since EA is pushing the Battlefield franchise to become a hybrid of CoD and because the newest CoD was being released a week later, those of us who preordered got a gigantic box of dookie. And I play the Battlefield series for the teamplay and vehicle combat so it's not like I can just go find another FPS to play. Planetside 2 is okay, but the vehicle combat is a bit phoned in.

I love the Elder Scrolls series, but I am not excited by ESO at all. If when released it gets stellar reviews I may think on it, but after years of playing WOW I am not so sure I want to get into another MMORPG.
