But you still have to put up with the ridiculous pace of the interchanging of day and nights. It's like living on saturn or something, you got like, 36 hours a day, no?

The world population is 7,139,000,000. That's 7.139 BILLION

The populations of the USA, Canada, and the EU is 850 million.

We are the only ones making an effort. 850 million out of 7 BILLION.

Or 6.3 Billion still going about their business as rapidly as they can.

And there is NOTHING we can do to change that. We send them MONEY, they laugh and build a new coal plant.

    I'm over 70 years old.

I lived through a warm period in a generally cooling trend. And I lived through a cooling period in a generally warming trend.

That's what the climatologists said at different times.

Also back in the 70's they said that by 2000 the area where I live on the coast of Florida would be many feet UNDERWATER. For being underwater for 14 years now, I'm remarkably DRY!

Also the polar ice sheets were "supposed" to be GONE, last year. Instead they are expanding. And with the ice gone, polar bears reached extinction last year. Good thing no one told the bears.

Also the SUN is getting warmer. The moon is getting warmer, Venus is getting warmer, Mars is getting warmer. Saturn is getting warmer.

    How am I doing that?

Evidently Pluto was not getting warmer so they fired Pluto.

This is a typically dumb, dismissive response and not unexpected, frankly. You do understand that ozone holes are not geo-stationary, they can grow exponentially and UV radiation is just as likely to affect Indiana as Patagonia? If the hole was allowed to expand, unchecked, you could expect crop failure, massive increases in the occurence of skin cancer, the elimination of krill in the oceans which would affect ALL sea life...

    Taxcutter says:
Actually they grow and shrink seasonally and the ozone concentration in the "hole" varies seasonally. By both criteria - coverage and concentration - the ozone hole has not changed at all since the satellites discovered it.

What is not at all clear is the answer to this question: "Was the hole there before CFCs came along?" Obviously, that question cannot ever be answered since satellites came along after CFCs. So there is always a reasonable doubt. Do scientists REALLY know the cause of the ozone hole? Is it really CFCs or maybe some other process not currently known. There is no such thing as settled science. Stephen Hawking is now saying there are no black holes. He's a smart cookie so you have a least listen.

The insensitivity of the ozone hole to trillions of dollars in sacrifice by America would tend to indicate something else is going on.

The same is true with Global Warming, but there you have to overlay the fact that the atmospheric temperature has changed numerous times with help at all from man.
