It's not actually a war, though, is it? Not a declared war. Where is the rest of Congress in all of this? Surely they could put a stop to it. Surely it's not up Dictator Obama alone.

That was almost zen-like in its awesomeness. I didn't understand a word of it but nonetheless I was impressed.

It is a war though, we need to recognize that. We have forgotten how to win wars. We have forgotten that it takes all of us to win. The POTUS, Congressional leaders, Hollywood, CEO's, everyone must recognize we are at war, and want to win.

Just take a look at the movies Hollywood put out about Iraq and Afghan in the last decade or so. Jarhead. Three Kings. Dear John. Hooligans at War. Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? Home of the Brave. Iraq in Fragments. Body of Lies. Stop Loss. W. No End in Sight. That's the best you Hollywood producers can do for us? Where were the Captain Phillips, Lone Survivors, etc. that you guys have been coming out with recently? Almost every movie about the wars portrayed them in a negative light, blasted the mission, or focused on negative things our soldiers did. FOR A DECADE. And now, the Hollywood elite are just now realizing their mistakes. That's why the shift in coverage of the wars to something more positive, patriotic if you will. Wake up America.

Oh, I see. You want propaganda to support this fight, not an end to the fighting.

Propaganda is an integral part of war. Any side who ignores this fact risks placing themselves at a disadvantage. Which is exactly what happened in Vietnam, and now our latest wars. I go farther. I don't think the Hollywood moguls ignored this fact. They knew it. And they should be ashamed of hurting their nation's cause with all that garbage they put out for a decade.

His 2008 campaign favored expansion of the Afghan War. Somehow, those who had been vitriolic critics of Bush's war policies - calling him a "war criminal," comparing him to Hitler - took no exception to Obama's proposed aggression. Sadly, expanding the Afghan war is one of the few campaign promises Obama kept.

Obama and the media can't be bothered with that war. The drone program is also not questioned, despite higher casualties since it has been ramped up and a loss of position and strengthening of the enemy.

I think you're right. Announcing that you will leave - without conditions - is equivalent to surrender. It means your opponents only have to wait. After you're gone, they can reassert themselves. That's what's happening in Iraq now. It will happen in Afghanistan. The point about leaving unconditionally seems obvious. One wonders how anyone could overlook it. Perhaps Obama & Friends have no commitment to our cause. Slipping away gradually and hoping no one notices the surrender may seem the safest way, politically, to abandon these wars. One also wonders if the Taliban and Al-Qaeda will reciprocate Obama's gentle exit. I think not. Our press, certainly, will call no attention to Obama's scuttling two wars.

Bin Laden was under criminal indictment when he carried out 9/11. The UN had passed security council resolutions demanding the Taliban turn over Bin Laden for criminal prosecution, when he carried out 9/11. It wasn't working. The attacks were only being escalated.

We invaded without provocation or being invited. How the f**k can we surrender?

Neither Iraq or Afghanistan attacked us or threatened us in any way, neither had anything to do with 9/11 yet we invaded both. Sort of like beating up your kid because someone steals your mama's purse.

We should have never went to either place. How can one overlook that? What is your cause?

How may tours have you served in either place?

bin Laden didn't carry out 9/11 nor has anyone ever indicted him in association with 9/11. He himself said he had nothing to do with it and there is no evidence whatsoever that he had anything to do with 9/11 other than you imagining that he did.

Seems the OP wants to ignore the fact that Bush put the real war on terror started by 9-11 in Afganistan on the back burner so he could invade Iraq based a crap intel. War not supported = low losses, war fought and supported = higher losses. Are you people that Partisan and living with blinders on or simply mouthing the same old "stuff"?

We must hope that the establishment Republicans lose their grip on the party. We need moral and intellectual clarity such as President Reagan gave us. It's worth remembering that Reagan was detested by the Republican leadership of his day; he only got the nomination on his third try, after bitter attacks by G.H.W. Bush! The party has such leaders as Reagan today - Kruse, Paul, others - and they will be resisted by the Roves, and Boehners, and McConnells, just as Reagan was. This is the fight we have to win.

Maybe you should do a little research, OBL was the mastermind behind 9-11 and even admitted he was shocked that the towers actually came down, he simply expected a major fire and loss of life.

Paul is a Libertarian and who is Kruse?

    her·met·ic (hər-mĕt′ĭk) also her·met·i·cal (-ĭ-kəl)
    adj.
    1. Completely sealed, especially against the escape or entry of air.
    2. Impervious to outside interference or influence: the hermetic confines of an isolated life.

Too bad the consequences of hermetically sealed ideologies are so disastrous. I won't trouble to respond point by point because we both know it would be futile.

Congressional Democrats won't oppose a President of their own party. Congressional Republicans - some of them - still dream of victory, so they won't vote to quit before Obama seals our defeat by the end of the year. The rest in Congress, seeing where the majority is headed don't want the political risk of making waves.

My point exactly. It's truly remarkable that a major power could be at war since 2001, and that the war is almost forgotten by the media and, because of that, the public. No one's looking. That can't be an accident. It's an engineered coup of public manipulation.

The Taliban government of Afghanistan gave safe refuge to those who carried out 9/11. The 9/11 terrorist trained in Afghanistan. The Taliban defied UN demands that they turn over Bin Laden.

You don't have a clue. Those who carried out 9/11 supposedly died on 9/11. Those who supposedly carried out 9/11 trained in a Charlotte County Florida flight school.

Completely wrong. bin Laden did not lay claim to the events of 9/11, he applauded them as deserved but in no way took credit for them. You need to do the research. The 9/11 Commission did not even place any blame for 9/11 on bin Laden. Fantasy is no substitute for reality.

I was in the air on 9/11/2001. It is you who doesn't know anything, a typical American without a clue. And it isn't a topic fool, it was a terrorist driven criminal act.
