I really don't get people making such a fuss about this, the solution is incredibly simple: allow it, if you want one, you can get one, if you don't you, you don't have to. Stop judging other people and leave them be, if you are against abortion for religious reasons: they will be punished by god. If you are against abortion for moral reasons: learn to live and let live, don't judge other people based on your morality, it's their lives and therefore THEIR choice, let them make it for [insert deity of your choice]'s sake!
That same arguement could be used to justify slavery being legal. "if you don't like slavery, then don't have a slave".
In the case of slavery you actively take away a persons freedom. With abortion you give people freedom. As for the inevitable "murder" argument: it may sound incredibly callous, but we are suffering from overpopulation as it is, why not allow people to remove unwanted clumps of cells. It makes sure those children-to-be don't end up in a home where they are not wanted, or, in every case, saves the woman from giving painful birth to an unwanted child. As for the inevitable "it will be used as a form of birth control" argument: I cannot imagine anyone preferring an abortion to regular contraception or the morning-after pill.
It's amusing when pro-lifers use slavery analogies in their arguments to support reproductive slavery.
The fetus is a person. It's not a part of the woman's body. Women have the choice to use their bodies, when they choose to have sex. If women don't want to have a baby, they should be more careful with how they use their bodies.
You can't always say that: accidents happen, condoms break, rape happens. Therefore it is better, and in my opinion, far more humane to give women the option of removing a fetus than to make them suffer during pregnancy and birth to either have an unwanted child or to give a child away. Again, any sane woman will prefer caution to an operation.
Nothing, the problem lies in the suffering during pregnancy and giving birth, as I have stated earlier. If the woman in question wants to do it fine, but she should not be forced to carry a baby to term. If she believes abortion is wrong she won't get one, if she doesn't why force your vision on her? Let people make their own choices and suffer the consequences of said choices. Not only does it prevent people forcing their ideology/beliefs/moral on others, it also promotes responsibility and thinking about the consequences of one's actions, something severely lacking in our society.
It's funny because it's not a person. It has no heart, no brain, no arms, no legs, no fingers, no toes, no organs, no bones. You might as well fight for the rights of yogurt bacteria.
The human female is designed to give birth. Much like the female of other mammalian species on the planet. It is just a fact of life. I no longer buy this wankish argument of 'the horrible suffering...'. Don't want to be pregnant? Don't get pregnant then, it's that easy.
But it hasn't been that way since the beginning of time. Women are human (SURPRISE!) and humans have sex. They will not stop and the history of the world proves it. Women are not evil or stupid for having sex, they are just human. It would be quite ignorant to think humans will stop having sex.
I never said any of the above now did I? But thank you for pointing out the obvious, I surely would have been lost forever without your guidance... Last I checked we don't have a Lebensborn project going on where forced breeding was mandated by the state, so nobody is forcing anybody to have children. Nobody is forcing them to carry them to term either. The gov shouldn't be involved in the equation. 99% of the women who get pregnant get pregnant of their own behavioral choices. Sex has potential for pregnancy regardless of whether or not you choose to use protection during the act. You can choose to abstain or to engage in sex or not. Both have their consequences.
No, and I NEVER said you did. You do need "guidance" if you think humans are so easy and simple that they will just stop having sex when the history of humans proves they just won't. Yes, sex has it's consequences but that doesn't have to include giving birth against your will. It would be stupid to make a mistake , of any kind, and then just accept the consequences rather than rectify the situation.
it's about the society we wish to leave our children and the way the world judges our society and the example we must set. if we are to be a society that hides under the guise of political flavour of the day to be re elected…than what are we .. if we are to allow for out right murder and not admit it is murder…than what are we.. it's obvious that some are ok with pretending it's not even a human thats being aborted, let alone a person…person become a legal issue and political football.. some of us want an honest and open society…a society not pretending to be something other.
Exactly the point pro-choice people make, while the majority of pro-lifers want to get the government involved by making abortion illegal and as such forcing a woman to remain pregnant and give birth. Neither forced pregnancy or forced abortion are right. Problem with that is you would be going against one of the most fundamental instincts and desires of the human race. Abstinence programs don't work and have never worked, and as I have said many times before no one is expected to suffer injury through a risk taken, we do not deny medical care just because someone took a risk.
I can. Although a minority, those who seek to commit incest, or rape children welcome the abortion situation in the US and other countries. One of the means that the community could use to out these people was eroded with our abortion policies. There are almost certainly young children becoming pregnant by parents, guardians, or other people in a position to do so, and then forced to abort in order to hide from the community the pregnancy. Although small in number compared to the total population, one cannot deny that this must be happening.
Never said they would stop. You're 'guidance' is not required. It no longer does, progressives have worked very hard to shield women from as much responsibility as possible. You should be proud as how much damage it has caused. Making one mistake to cover up another does not constitute 'rectification'. Particularly in the case of elective abortions. Flexible morality will not make the realities of prenatal assassination any less of a reality. Abortion kills children. Most of the time it is needlessly done, and at the convenience of the mother.
Abortion isn't a mistake....it's a responsible way to not have an unwanted baby. Your ideas of why women have abortions has NO foundation in facts...but do stay away from those scary facts , you may learn something....
A woman can have as much sex as she wants and not get pregnant because there are many BC options (other than abortion) so..... Why are there so many abortions?
Incorrect, it is what happen when you are not responsible. Many would call that a 'mistake. Probably because few women having abortions would like to admit to irresponsible behavior. You may change your skin Whatnow?! but your antics are as see through as a pane of glass. Also, do not misquote me again.
Women do not have to ADMIT to anything, they are not on trial. Yes, being irresponsible is a mistake in ANYTHING humans do....but not taking care of the resulting problem is stupid. Making a mistake and wallowing in it for the rest of your life, as you propose people do, is just stupid.
