Who's talking about charity? Loaning money is a business and Europeans are overdue on paying it back.

Nobody is complacent just simple facts. Russia is reducing its armed forces, but like ANY army in the world it introduces new weapons to replace older ones.

    If that scares you ...

Everything has long been payed back.

They should also pay us back for defending them from being over run by the Soviet Union.

I expect just about everyone is braced for WWIII the way things have (reportedly) been of late.

I hear that the US economy as it stands now is a giant bubble, too. If and when that blows, which is reportedly not terribly far off now but hard to pinpoint, it will be an easy catalyst for war. Expect some pretext, probably some false flag or perhaps even genuine attack, to spark things off with us and China or some other foreign power that happens to be on the current s**t list.

Laughable. If the US economy fails it takes everyone and everything down with it, world wide economic catastrophe. The Chinese, Japanese and Europeans certainly wouldn't be happy about losing their investments.

My favorite Stalin quote is "What is important is not what is true or false, but exclusively what is believed". I think oboobma also feels that is the case.

True! No one wants a war with the U.S., but some see our power diminishing, and as a consequence want to establish their own sphere of influence...or revive maybe a long lost empire? A clash between some conflicting nations and a megalomaniac leader could lead us into a world war, it did the last time. :confuse:

Certainly the countries invested in our unsustainable debt do not want to be left holding the short end, no debate there, but we're facing a giant atomic bubble just waiting for a pin here. It's not spoken about in the MSM, of course, because that bubble is also sustained by faith that would of course be destroyed by facing the reality of the situation.

Interesting things have been happening of late. Things like the developing markets being purposely upset by us (e.g. Turkey) to force investment into our ailing system, like China selling those bonds of ours off while buying gold and speaking quite strongly about creating a new reserve currency, and like 0bama's administration now forcing federal workers into a rip-off retirement of bond investments (MyRA), quite plainly designed to help make up for the loss of foreign bond buying and the Fed's dire need to further taper or entirely cut off the QE soon.

Poor United States. From last forces US is fighting for the happiness of Iraqis, Afghans, Libyans and other countries, the existence of which the ordinary American is not aware of it. He will not even show where these are located on a map. As rightly said Jennifer, somebody wants to push the US out of the sphere of their influence. Some people are apparently those who in these areas lives. As well as the interests and influence of the United States is the Eath planet, there's a lot of those who want to live on their land without American assistance. But they can rest assured that the US will not leave them in their difficult struggle with their independence. The United States will help them, regardless of whether they want to or not. As said Napoleon: "If you fail to feed your army, you will be feeding a foreign army." Smart guy.

Sure after we propped up and made the USSR possible with the lend lease to them europe should pay the bill afterwards.

Do you also want them to pay the bill for the afghan war? Iraq war?

don't be into the so-called 'Stalin quoes' that much. Stalin has nothing to do with any of the quotes ascribed to him.

In all those historical events, the USA was complicit. There is far more blood on our hands than Russia's.

Nonsense. We are not to blame for them invading Poland, for starving the Ukranians, for shipping their people to Siberia, for oppressing all of Eastern Europe etc.. I get you are part of the hate America crows, my only question is "when do you plan on leaving and can we move that date up somehow?"

as if you cared for Poland other than shed crocodile tears...

    that did not happen.

what is so special about Siberia that people may not be shipped there? Siberia is a beautiful place full of riches.

giving education and healthcare for free is oppressive?

Shipping people? Commie stuff. Yes Stalin starved the Ukraine. We went through this. If Russians were so educated they wouldn't be so poor. They copy most technology. I like Poland, any nation that breaks the back of the commies is cool with me. Thank you for not pretending your USSR didn't do horrible things to the Poles.

Can you name any western nation with less money then Russia per capita?

    http://www.historyplace.com/worldhistory/genocide/stalin.htm

Don't collectivize lad and try to run commie farms unless you plan to starve people to death. Which is what Stalin did. Mao too, but that wasnt his goal he was just stupid when it came to economics.

don't count money, count taxes per man, for we in Russia don't have to pay the taxes and health insurances and other payments you in the West do, also there are still things given for free in Russia, such as education and healthcare along with the subsidised public transport and housing utilities; this is what your survey keeps quiet about.

that is a fake and lies all the way, how can you trust it at all?!

You are paying too much attention to our government's propaganda. Much of our foreign policies like our domestic ones, are controlled by lobbyists, and they have their own self interests at heart. The Soviet Union was an internationalist system imposed on the Russian people by non Russians coming in from Germany and Poland. The head of the Ukraine at the time of the holodymir was Khrushcev who was Ukrainian himself and under Stalin's orders... and who just happened to be from Georgia.

Supposedly it was the communist system that we were against in the Cold War, not the Russian people, but since we are copying today so many of the beliefs and ideology of the Soviet Union it seems that was not the case. Basically we are going back to that centuries old adage of East vs West. What is really pathetic is that whenever we feared Russia's competitive power on the world scene, we in turn gave power to some very evil and questionable regimes so they could oppose them, and by doing so became complacent in the atrocities they were committing. :disbelief:

Sorry I have not had a chance to respond.

For someone who went on the internet and needs me to tell them about either Zundel or Keegstra smacks of implausability.

If you are capable enough of finding out who both of them are, then you are fully aware what they did in Canada and what they stand for.

No I am not here to list all kinds of info about Zundel or Keegstra and give you a chuckle giving them any more attention than they deserve.

If you are telling me you remain ignorant of them go find someone else to play that tune to.
