Not me. I personally hope that Yanukovich and Putin flay every last protestor. These guys are right-wing fascist groups from the "Svoboda ('Freedom') Party", "Patriots of Ukraine", "Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian National Self-Defense..." These people dream of a Russian-free, immigrant-free but most of all, a Jew-free Ukraine. They are being heavily financially supported by the US (no surprise there, the US does loooove its foreign fascist fighters) and being paid by them to destroy their own capital. I hope the tanks roll over every last one of them. Yanukovich needs to know by know that any kind of flexibility is a loss for him.

The "fascist" as you call them want to joint the west. It is the government that wants to be under the commie murderer Putin.

I don't think that Russia has that much influence over the Ukraine although it is different story for Belarus.

I also don't believe that all of the protesters are actually interested in being fascists and this did start over the Ukraine's interest in joining the EU.

The eastern half of the country is pro-Russian.

I support these facists, I suppose. It's rather easy actually, as they are pro-eu. Ukraine in EU = more influence for EU, and less for Russia. Sweden is part of EU, therefore Sweden gains influence. Influence = coolness and potential prosperity. less russian influence is something inherently good from the perspective of any swede. So yeah, I support them.

I support the EU as well. I should hope that I will live long enough to see the pivotal moment when Europeans with no common language, culture, or goals have to yield to the might of a bureaucratic centralized government with no common purpose or have their economies left in complete and utter ruins. Economic integration ahead of political integration was perhaps the biggest mistake a group of nations have ever made and I want to see the fireworks when your nations collapse one way or the other. I don't think even the anarchists could have planned that fiasco any better.

As for Ukraine, I hope the protestors are fed into a wood chipper. They clearly are blocking traffic.

If they are nationalist and anti-Communist, then they have my blessings.

The EU of the future will have even more shortcomings--of this I have faith.

Perhaps. I don't know which way it'll go. I'd prefer it to tone down on the federal union crap and be more of a free trade area and a military alliance, but not much more.

Any evidence of US financial support? Or just the usual anti-US bovine excrement?

It was never intended to be anything but a federal union in order to neuter Germany. The EU has been in development since the 1950's in one way or the other. The common currency with member nations giving up its national currency was when the ship sailed on your vision of what it should be. The Euro will force people into a political federation, and if the political federation fails, the currency falls. When the Euro collapses, parts of Europe will see Weimar Republic scale inflation. Sweden might skate by only moderately scarred, but some nations will not be so lucky. Unlucky nations get restless. Restless nations start conflicts.

oh.. now you've done it... it's not "the Ukraine" anymore, it's just Ukraine

@OP you speak as if this is a rebellion being led by the nationalist party, when in fact they are one of 5 parties with a seat in their parliament (they are merely the 4th most popular)

While the whole fight is for a bad cause ( IMF/EU slavery vs Putin's slavery) when cops shoot at you you have every right to shoot back at them.

After what happened to the Ukraine under Russia's control I'm surprised there's a pro-Russian gene left in that country.

One of the best descriptions I have witnessed of those
Freedom loving Ukrainian demonstrators fighting that democratically elected government.
Why can't they wait for the next election as more civilized Turks are doing?

Bravo expression. Believable. Like + Reputation tag.

The "protestors" are comprised of many different factions. I take it you support Putin over the EU?

It's a true claim. Who cares if they are objecting fascism when their plan of replacement is simply a more intense, anti-Russian and anti-Semitic form of fascism? Ukrainians are largely divided over the country's EU/Russian future but the core of the protests has always been the fascist fanatics from Svoboda and smaller far-right parties. I do think it's hilarious though how the US, always keen to support Israeli interests is desperately throwing support to the anti-Semitic fascists in Svoboda. We live in a crazy world.

Get them to realise the mutual benefits of a political union with us you mean? As soon as possible.

I'm positive it will collapse sooner or later, or be forced to progress in another direction. As it is now, I don't like the EU, but the concept of european co-operation, free trade and a military alliance is good.

Some people have probably never be in a massive riot.

As seen in the video below the protesters can be religious freaks, old people , anarchists ( notice the black/red flags) , pro-EU and even a guy holding a big flag with the logo BS

( note : the music is continental European metal , mute it if you are not a friend )

Funny, because only a fascist would rejoice in a government using military to kill protestors. Look in the mirror before you call anyone a fascist.

He is a commie though, so he sees freedom as fascism and state control as utopia.
