At this time I tend to believe that New Age Groups may be the most likely to successfully initiate local currencies and use them to finance film projects in which homeless people could become actors playing the role of homeless people.... .which could easily finance their buying or renting homes????!!!!

While the Republican agenda only benefits the upper middle class white and the wealthy (overwhelmingly white) upper class demographic they also reach out to the ignorant White Anglo-Saxon Protestants even though their agenda harms these very same Americans. The Republican anti-Hispanic, anti-black, anti-woman, anti-poor agenda is appealing to many WASP's even when that agenda actually harms them.

Actually "conservatism" is a bad ideology. America itself was established based upon the progressive ideology that all men are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable Rights.

The greatest problem historicalli was (and is) the "conservatives" that retained the belief that this only applied to "White Anglo Saxon Protestant Males" in America. It was the "conservatives" that retained slavery and denied equality to women in America after the Declaration of Independence. It was the "conservatives" that blocked Chinese and Catholic immigration. It was the "conservatives" that slaughtered the Native-Americans. It was the "conservatives" in America that retained the "divine right of kings" when it came to land ownership and the natural resources of the new nation. It was the "conservatives" that violated the Rights of every demographic group other than WASP Males in American. And it is the "conservatives" today that continue to advocate these same practices.

America needs to be "progressive" albeit not always in the sense that "Progressive-Democrats" propose. We need to further embrace the words and meaning of the primary proposition established in the Declaration of Independence where it states:

This was a beginning and not an end. We need to understand the inalienable Rights of the Person and so long as one person is denied their inalienable Rights then we have much left to accomplish. Half the people I discuss politics with today don't even know what an inalienable Right is and that is a disgrace and none moreso than the "conservatives" that generally choose to continue to believe that "inalienable Rights" only really exist for WASP males in America. The deny racial and gender discrimination that violates the Rights of minorities and women where their Right of Equality of Opportunity and Equal Protection Under the Law is ensured.

No, "conservatism" is not a good thing because we need to be be "progressive" as a nation. We don't want to go back to "the way we were" because "the way we were" really sucked. We need to move forward (i.e. progress) as a nation and that is "progressive" and not "conservative" by definition.

Dennis there is a reason why governments prefer to borrow, it's so they can unlock the money people have saved, and they can just as easily print the money to pay the interest as they can issue it in the first place. The real problem is all that government spending has too small an economic multiplier, if not less than 1. Liberals argue that if we pay people to do nothing, they will spend it and 'stimulate'. That ignores the obvious fatal flaw.
