Great News: German Home-Schooling Family Allowed to Stay in US After Asylum Denied

this is laughable, so USA harbors criminals now, i guess we germans should grant snowden asylum too.

Although, I don't think they necessarily met the qualifications, seeing as how they weren't being oppressed in any way, like the liar/whiner Todd Starnes put it...

They just weren't allowed to home school, per local laws...

I don't think denying reality is an effect strategy in fighting racism, but that's clearly the approach that many take.

 

That was my wife's point....letting in millions of gardeners illegally while expelling 1 qualified legal entrant...bad visual.

I'm shocked but very grateful this has happened (after the disgraceful Roberts court refused to hear their case).
Of course it looks horrible that Obama wants amnesty for millions of low skilled law breakers but chose to fight this one single German family seeking asylum on religious grounds but who knows why they finally relented.

 

Great news indeed. Just look at that beautiful family who will become productive members of our society versus the millions of Hispanics and Africans we let fill our welfare rolls. We should go back to the pre-1965 'national origins' immigration laws that favored European immigration......you know, the folks that founded and built this once great nation.

All we need is more illegals who refuse to give their child an education.

All these people had to do was include the required curriculum so their kids in their whackjob home schooling. But they refuse, apparently they think their faith and their warped view of reality will be corrupted in their children if the children heard any REAL science, or math, or history.

 

Yes, so what was the point of this whole exercise of having the family go through hell and now have someone from DHS tell them they can stay as long as they obey the law. The SCOTUS refused to hear this case on religious freedom,but they are hearing a case about a convicted murderer in prison who is Muslim....(cough) and wants to keep his beard??? Are you kidding me??? They refused the home school case of religious freedom but will hear this scumbags case??? What the hell happened to my country????

They don't want their kids exposed to or taught things that they don't think are right. It's called parental rights. Are you a parent? Do you want the state telling you how to raise your children, what to teach them...etc? if you do I have to wonder about your mental faculties.

Considering what they were teaching the poor kids, I'd say it's very criminal and laughable.

That's indoctrination - this is why a lot of fringe religious sects or cults like homeschooling - they know that limiting the information that their members receive makes them easier to control - it's no different than what's practiced in authoritarian regimes like North Korea

Sure not all homeschoolers are religious cultists, but I've got no sympathy for those who are. As for whether or not it's automatically child abuse that's more of a gray area - but at best it's horrible parenting and just teaches kids to be good little comrades rather than learn to think critically.

So you automatically assume they are nut jobs because they want to home school. Statistically speaking home school kids are more balanced and more educated than public school kids.

That's "homeschoolers in general" and it's a misquoted statistic - if you take the statistics specifically for fundamentalist schoolers, they do poorer actually on the ACTs - specifically in areas of critical thought.

Plus learning "young earth creationism" as a substitute for evolution isn't science anyway.
