That ship sailed long ago, Libertarianforlife.

I was embarrassed horribly the day he accepted the Nobel Prize for Peace back in 2009.

Any man with a shred of integrity would have turned it down, and graciously demurred to the next runner-up.
"Listen, I really haven't actually DONE anything to earn this. Please award the prize to a more fitting candidate, and keep me in mind for after I have actually accomplished something!"

Now THAT would have been an honorable act, and that would have earned my respect.
As it is, he is just another self-absorbed, no-talent tool.

That other world leaders smirk and chuckle in his general direction is a foregone conclusion.
He's out of his league, and has no clue what he is doing.
I'm only sorry for the damage he does to the prestige of this once-great nation.

Maybe you hero's should get together, fly over to Kiev and take Putin on. Maybe you'll get a statue erected in your honor.

He can avoid embarrassment and WW3 at the same time.

I would be happy to do that but technically I would need permission from the U.S. Department of State to engage in such activity, otherwise it could be considered treason against the country I love.

And since the Obama Administration is meekly backing down and humiliating themselves (and our nation), they will not be granting me that permission anytime soon.

Really How would that be? If he did and said nothing you would complain. If he emposes sanctions and freezes bank accounts you complain. If he starts WWIII you would complain. So tell us how he would ever please you in the situation?

He can be a leader. He doesn't have to do anything, it's not our damn business. If he won't do anything, DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Just shut up.

"tis better to be assumed stupid than to open thy mouth and remove all doubt."

I loved and admired Jimmy Carter.

True, he was a terrible US President, but he was an honorable man, a good husband, and a former US Naval Submariner with an engineering degree.
With academic credentials that the entire world was allowed to peruse and visit.

    This current President;
    Eh. Not so much.

Really Russia invading another nation with no cause is no ones business. Got it.
I would suggest that advice applies to more than the President.

Then what are you waiting for? You don't need anyone's permission.

Backing down from what exactly again?

    - - - Updated - - -

Jimmy Carter was sold out by the same traitors who've been running the country since then.

Weird. The EU also issued sanction too. Why didn't the OP illustrate that as well?

The title of the article is:

Russian Deputy PM Laughs at Obama’s Sanctions

If you don't like what the article says, address that with the liberal source I used. I did that on purpose.

Obama needs to put up or shut up. He's quickly losing respect on the world stage, if he had any left.

Obama made this chess move back on his apology tour. As I correctly predicted during his apology tour, it would be perceived as weakness which would lead to world instability.

And you were absolutely right. A weak world leader is seen as a destabilizing force.

Notice Putin didn't try this (*)(*)(*)(*) under Bush.

nothing more he can do then what he is doing, he is not a republican, so he will not start another 10+ year war... and that is a good thing

Bush was considered by the world to be stupid enough to start another 10+ year war, heck he proved he was that stupid with Iraq, thank god he is no longer in office

Crimean Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov tweeted a photoshopped image of President Barack Obama in a Russian military uniform.

Obama is seen as about as weak as a snail without a shell. No one in the world has any respect for this community agitator.

Do some research. Bush didn't control congress in 2008. The House AND SENATE were democratically controlled. And unlike Obummer, Bush didn't act unilaterally. He actually went to congress and got the proper votes for the wars he got us into. Something Obama cum slurpers might want to consider every now and then. And quite frankly, we were heavily involved in not one, but two wars, at that point. Two unpopular wars that democrats overwhelmingly voted for, then turned against when public winds blew the other way. More proof liberals are spineless cowards.

And like I told the other guy, Bush was a lame duck at that point, he had no control over anything. Congress was solidly democratic. *yawn*

Putin didn't try this (*)(*)(*)(*) when Bush had his republican congress, that's for damn sure.

Open your eyes, liberals. You were drunk on Obama cum koolaid when you voted for the moron not once, but twice. Now you'll try to defend his idiocy to the very end. You sure are faithful, I'll give you that.

    The answer was really simple.

Go with the Keystone Pipeline and North Dakota / Bakken gas and oil fields publicly... watch the natural gas and oil market plummet in price on speculation alone. Russia gets 80%-90% of it's exports through oil and gas. Start shipping massive amounts to Germany and watch Russia die a swift economic death.
