Johran McCormick was his name. He never had much of a chance. Idiot parents. His mother can't believe he got killed. She thought he was in New Orleans for spring break. You heard right. Would any decent parent allow their teenage kid to go to NOLA for spring break?

There was an argument. The Dad was holding Johran at gunpoint and told him not to move. He had already called 911. The teen likely got upset when the daughter denied knowing him. Johran might have been reaching for his clothes or his wallet/ID.

The best punishment for the daughter would be to make her clean up.

Um, yes. My dad is a former Marine and a retired police officer. I went. Big deal. He just made it clear that if I made a mistake, that it was on me, so to think about every decision I made.

    So I did, and lived!

Decent parents raise their kids to know the difference between right and wrong before they reach the age where they go somewhere distant for spring break. If your kid doesn't at that age, then that's probably on you.

Congratulations! I sure as hell wouldn't let my 17 year old go there for a week.

Thanks for the input. So the 17 yr old kid's mother thought he was in NOLA... but he was still in town and she didn't know it......

Yeah, I can imagine how upset the guy was.... caught w/his pants down - so to speak - and his hunny told her daddy she didn't know him.

Of course, dad would believe his daughter and a kid who was invited to have a little fun w/her at 2 a.m. ended up dead......

That lying 16 yr old sneak has a lot to answer for.

I wouldn't let him go by himself, I would let him go with a group with adult supervision. I agree with HTownMarine also if you start with them when they are young teaching them right and wrong and responsibility by the time they are 17 and 18 yrs old they usually do the right thing.

If the father had this kid at gun point and knew the police were on the way and he killed this kid, he probably needs to be brought up on charges.

Yes I agree. Raise em right early, and they usually do good later. I was able to go on SB to Panama City as an 18 year old with no adult supervision. Rented a giant condo right on the beach. The worse that happened was a few nasty hang overs and some hooking up.

I also agree with the second part, as long as the kid didn't try and charging at him or anything. But hard to know what really happened.... does not look good though.
