I have seen this sort of revisionism a lot lately. The only comparisons between the two ideologies can be found on the surface. Both use very similar methods to control their populations, such as personality cults, planned economy etc. The real differences appear when you study the underlying motivation for their actions.

You can apply the same to Western Capitalism. For example, when was the last time America was not involved in military conflict with someone? I'll tell you; between 1935 and 1940.

    ..only as a propaganda tool.

The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies "something not desirable." ~George Orwell

This is particularly true of fascism. Unlike the writing of Marx underpinning socialism, the evolution of fascism has been a lot more organic. This becomes evident when we look at Fascist governments through history, the development in each nation seems to have a real ad hoc sense about it.

No, but it is a tenant of all leftist ideologies.

Fascists and communists care about power not people. Otherwise they wouldn't tell them what to do.

Didn't America do the same? Pandering to Stalin at Yalta and splitting Eastern Europe?

Not at all. He was hardcore leftist. Polar opposite of ayn rand. Obviously you don't understand her work. Being free to do what you want is nothing like the totalitarian state you espouse here everyday. No wants your dictatorship.

His armies were already there. It would be like dislodging Putin.

The betrayal of the Finns, the poles, and the Czechs by Western Europe was bad, but not at all akin to collusion to conquer together.

Betrayal of the Finns? They were allied to the Nazis in WW2. I note you didn't include America when mentioning the betrayal of the Poles and Czechs. Neither Churchill nor Roosevelt felt any qualms in eventually caving to Stalin's demands and resigning Poland to decades of Communism post WW2. Churchill, especially, displayed incredible naivete in trusting Stalin.

This is a utopia. Extremes do not work, because they are impossible in real life. People born NOT EQUAL. They may be treated all equally well, but they are never equal biologically, I mean physically and intellectually. To be fair, they should be allowed to compete free under democratic law. The less fortunate should be given a reasonable help and the greed of the rich must be controlled by law.

IMO "fascism" is a historical term describing the governing system in Mussolini's Italy. It is not some broad type of governmental type, and I am unaware of any fascist governments, self-identified or otherwise, other than WW2 Italy. When I hear someone use the term casually, it lowers my estimate of their intellectual capacity.

Read Mussolini's take on fascism: What Is Fascism?

    This will explain it.

You could not be more incorrect.

    Again, incorrect.

    You are completely incorrect.

Seems to me that the funds HAD to go to tanks, in order to prop itself up - the uber ponzi scheme that it was.

Paid cruises, lol, paid for by the blood of other Europeans and Jews perhaps.........

agreed, and it often seems to be the more 'populist' conservatives that lump the two together IMO

How you figure this one out?

Socialism doesn't need conflict - peace more like it.

Free to do what you want + Ayn Rand in the same sentence = :roflol:

She was most certainly a fascist whore, a dictator of 'purist' morality.

Then the alliance between Stalin and Hitler to invade Poland was simply because Stalin feared Hitler?

    Refer to:
Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov–Ribbentrop_Pact
... Hitler–Stalin Pact, German–Soviet Non-aggression Pact and sometimes the Nazi–Soviet Alliance ... Hitler postponed his planned 26 August invasion of Poland ...

    Also:
    A Nazi-Soviet Pact
    http://www.johndclare.net/RoadtoWWII8.htm
On 23 August, 1939, the world was shocked when, suddenly, Russia and Germany signed a 'Non-aggression Pact'.
People would have been even more shocked if they had known at the time that, in addition, the two countries had made a number of a 'secret protocol' agreeing 'spheres of influence' in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Poland. It amounted to an agreement to invade and divide the countries of eastern Europe between them ... with Poland first on the list.

I'd venture to say that Stalin was a co-conspirator to the beginning of World War II. The fact that Stalin was double crossed by Hitler only goes to show that you can't trust Fascists or Communists. Hitler struck before Stalin would have. There's no honor between thieves and ego-maniacs.

Fascists base all politics around extreme and often irrational nationalism and scapegoating of minority religions/ethnic/racial groups.
