Christians, if you were born in India, to a modern, middle class, educated hindu family, what would your faith be, if any?
That's a good point. When I see that most Japanese are Buddhist, most Egyptians are Muslim, and most Americans are Christian... I do not see irony... I see peer pressure at best and indoctrination at worst.
It's an interesting question in light of the christian perspective that theirs is the only path to god. Some take it a step further and assert they'd be a christian no matter where they were born and raised - assuming they had knowledge of the faith. Is that likely? or even possible, in most cases? After all, western christians have knowledge of other faiths, but dont embrace them.
If it is the wish of god YHWH for a person to know him and worship him, this person will serve YHWH regardless of the place of birth. There are several biblical examples, where men, women, captains of an army, etc. turned their lives toward YHWH the creator. And, also many people who were born and raised having knowledge of the religion found in the bible, they have become atheists, Muslims, etc. You are opening lots of topics with questions, something that is good. But it should be better if you open one sole topic and ask all your questions over there. I say this because your questions are not profound enough to start a good discussion.
So, will you answer my OP question? Meanwhile, I hadnt realised I needed to meet your profundity criteria. a thousand apologies. And, "lots of tpoics"? All two of them?
Another question would be, if you were born 30,000 years ago in Southern Europe would you be a Christian?
Not me personally (I'd be a cave bear worshipping nomad), but some christians might have been. They do claim god selects them individually, and given he's omnipresent and such ...
What crap. The idea that a person is born with the knowledge of the chri$tian god in their heart or mind is complete and dishonest BULSH.
Something we often overlook is the cultural impact on religion. All faiths by default will see theirs as the only true path. Although I am a Catholic I always temper my thoughts with the consideration all faiths are doing basically the same thing, just simply in their own way
