I never said any of that though, did I?

My post was about a word and all I was saying is, the word seems better-suited to people who literally behave like butchers.

President Assad visits Christian Church in Maaloula. The church is 2000 years old and was destroyed by foreign Al Qaeda terrorists.

I agree, which is why the "Butcher" is an appropriate term for Assad and his Shabiha thugs.

I'm glad we have Christian parties in Lebanon who don't believe that they should bow to a tyrant to guarantee their "protection." We all know what happened to the various Christian politicians who opposed the regime in Syria, after all.

Christians in Lebanon majority support President Assad. They know they cannot afford to have Sunni radicals take over Syria and then Lebanon

Golly, a month or two ago the victory for Assad was a slam dunk and now you say it looks pretty iffy.

Syrian Christians make up about 10% of Syria's prewar population of 23 million and they generally support Assad because an Islamist takeover of the country would give them no other option but to flee the country. Syria's Christian communities have a long history that goes back to the Roman era and it's worth preserving Syria's cultural heritage. Syria is going through a turbulent transition to democracy and Assad would have to step aside to end the civil war that has attracted tens of thousands of foreign fighters affiliated with al-Qeada. The benevolent dictator model common in the Middle East is now increasingly seen as a hangover from a bygone era of the Cold War and the Arab Spring has brought about necessary changes throughout the Arab world since 2010.

Firstly, it's misguided to equate what's happening in Syria with the Arab Spring. Secondly, French "indications" are unfounded.

Where did I say the terrorists would win?

The Army has made alot of progress. We are on the right path to victory. I am here in Damascus and the terrorists are shooting missiles and mortars to scare us. The people of Damascus demand no negotiations, no amnesty, no sympathy and no mercy for Al Qaeda terrorists and their sympathizers. In 6 months there will be no more terrorist presence in Damascus and the suburbs. The Army will finish off and crush the enemies.

You didn't. In the post I responded to you stated that that Lebanon copuld not afford an opposition victory which means that you view it as a possibility while a short while ago government victory was to you a certainty.

How about the opposition? How are you faring with them?

I said in general Lebanon cannot have the terrorists in Syria win. Lebanon will lose too in that case.

    What opposition. All armed opposition to Syrian Army = terrorism. They must surrender or die.;

"Support!?" Lol. After all the Christians figures your filthy regime has murdered, you are wrong to think that the Christians of Lebanon support Assad.

I do hope Geagea wins the presidential elections.

That they should be neutralized like the Assad regime.

    - - - Updated - - -

Wishful thinking. You clearly have no idea who you are against.

The Army will bring victory to Syria. Just when the Syrian Army is decisively winning on the battlefield, the opposition comes up with new idea of getting the attention of international community. Cannot challenge the Army but now desperate to score in the media. Pathetic strategy.

Why is chemical weapons so attention grabbing for you? 100+ missiles and mortars fired by the terrorists landed on my neighborhood in 10 days. Does that make you happy? What do you think those are, toys or some kind of freedom missiles? They have killed many people I knew here. If they land on my home and kill me, will that be any better than killing someone with chemical weapons?

Opposition getting desperate. Try to intimidate us with mortars and suicide bombs. We only support the Army even more and rally around Bashar. Eventually we will get them all, one way or another. The jihadis and their traitor supporters will pay a very heavy price. Time is on our side.

How about contributing something useful to this thread? Trolling is not contributing.

Oh dear ! Oh dear !:omg:

I have offended by being less than laudatory of Bashar al-Assad : iron ruler of a nation which has seen 150,000of its citizens slaughtered in the quest to remove him from power; a nation that has invited terrorists from Iran to halp him stay in power; a nation whose wild struggles have attracted the assorted "al-Qaida" -style forces funneled in by the Sauds.:salute:

For my penance, I believe I shall purchase a zither, and compose lyrics in honor of the Syrian Girl.

Hmmm.... I'll have to drink some more coffee and get back to you on that one.

After Al Qaeda jihadis withdrew from Homs, the people can finally go outside and not fear terror attacks

    Yeah, play outside in Homs.

Despite besieging Homs for months, the Syrian military had to use a truce to finally take the city. And people still think he's going to turn out victorious...

And ironically Hezbollah fights for Assad. Wonderful people. Death toll up to 150,000, chemical weapons used against fellow syrians, and somehow I fear Israel will be blamed for this genocide.

Its more than politics its about life and death. Assad supports Hezbollah as does Iran. Assad gasses his own people and Hezbollah fights for him. It shows who and what they are. The man is a blood drinking vampire, and they support him. Why wouldn't they? He supported them for years and provides them with money and weapons from Iran.
