Non-English language music

    Someone's post in 'What are you listening to' gave me the idea for this topic. I once tried to learn Spanish just to understand Mexican music which I've always loved and didn't have to 'grow to love' as someone on that thread said of Italian music his parents used to play.

    A lot of people liken Mexican music to that accordion cacophony blaring out of the cars of Mexican immigrants, but I've always preferred the ballads (boleros). This is one of my favorites:

    It is so romantic, and so are the lyrics, as are many Mexican ballads.

    Very nice.

    I love music, and I love foreign languages- I have a ton on my mp3 in German, Icelandic, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, French, Mandarin, Cherokee, Inuit...no Spanish, though. I'll have to find some :)

    Of those, I only know German, plus a bit of Icelandic and Japanese. I also tend to prefer the more folk or traditional varieties, though I do listen to some modern pop/rock in other languages.
