Yeah Abby Hoffman became a real disappointment. He went from protesting against the Man to trying to be The Man.

 

All it would take is the right push for the SHTF. It may take a big push but don't ever think that it couldn't happen it is just the likelihood of something major happening. Let the power go out for any length of time and see what happens.

 

Hoffman stayed pretty true to his causes till the end. I'm not saying all Boomers sold out, but if you look at the political evolution of American culture, the 80s are where America basically sold its soul.

The 70s certainly had harbingers of the coming degeneration however -- like the passing of FISA.

The rebellions and instability of the 60s led to the government and corporate interests uniting against mechanisms of popular expression. Politicians from both sides, including even many highly respected liberal leaders, spoke of the "excesses of democracy."

In short, he explains how both conservatives and liberals have systematically weakened the voice of the masses in exchange for stability that is preferable to business elites.

If you keep the public distracted and ignorant of current events, you can trick them into believing they are free and actually have a vote that matters.

Sorry, but are you honestly trying to use as proof of "growing unrest" a 37 year old photograph?

For those that do not know, the above photograph won the Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for Stanley Forman, and is called "Soiling Old Glory". It was taken in Boston on 5 April 1976, when a mob of whites attacked and beat a black civil rights lawyer who had won a decision to allow school desegregation.

And anybody who does not recognize the image should still recognize or at least somewhat place the fashion. The lady on the far right for goodness sakes is wearing flared bell-bottom slacks. And just look at the clothes and hair, straight outta the Bicentennial year. And not a cell phone in sight anywhere.

So if we are to believe you, civil unrest is going to start at least partially by angry whites, over a desegregation ruling over a quarter century ago? Hell, why not drag in the Manson Family and Illuminati as well while you are at it?

The dollar has not collapsed, the economy has not collapsed, unemployment is not huge, crime is not rampant, and racial conflicts are largely a thing of the past.

You are welcome to the era around the time when that photograph was taken, and you would be closer to the truth then it is today. Myself, I do still remember the Carter Administration, with double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, and double digit unemployment. However, that era is almost as old as that photograph, and it only took 1 President with a vision to turn things around.

Heck, the last time a major US city tried to destroy itself was over 2 decades ago. Unlike every year or so of 3 decades ago.

Seems to me that you actually want to return to that bygone era.

May I express an opinion here,
The fact is ( as I see it ) if enough AMERICAN citizens
actually became aware that there is a serious problem here
( that is Federal minions getting to break laws at will and not be accountable )
........ .wow man, " if the President does it ... its not illegal "

There is a way, I would guess that total solidarity among at least at third of AMERICANS
would do it, and we could turn this around without bloodshed. We have power
..... POWER TO THE PEOPLE ..... what? we already have POWER, the issue here
is will we use it?

There are non-violent means to make a statement, but it takes large numbers of
individuals to make it happen.
