Horrible news tonight out of Phoenix

Tonight on Hannity a breaking news story about the VA hospital in Phoenix. Whistle blowers have revealed that there is a secret list of vets that need medical care. They are kept on that list until they can get on the 14 day list for care that is public.

Whistle blowers reveal at least 40 VETS HAVE DIED WHILE ON THE SECRET LIST!!!!!!!!!! Think about that, 40 American heros have died due to federal b'crats!!!

IMO Obama should fire the top 3 levels of the VA administration in Washington, and the top 3 levels of administration in Phoenix IMMEDIATELY!!! Fired, out, no severance pay or benefits period!!!!

I would urge everyone to flood McCain's office in Washington. He wants an immediate investigation. Tell him we wont let up untill he get the investigation!!!!

 

The same people who spit in their face as they were returning home from Vietnam are now in charge of their medical care. What do you expect?

Well Veteran Affairs is investigating the facility. So I am guessing this might have legs. I think this might be a case of some people chasing performance bonuses rather than a systemic issue

April 24, 2014 WASHINGTON — The chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee on Thursday pledged to convene a hearing on allegations that excessive wait times at a Phoenix VA facility led to the deaths of 40 veterans.

 

That's not reasonable. Many Vietnam veterans regret the atrocities that occurred there. No one would hold it against them anymore.

 

Firing people won't fix anything. Sorry but I think it is time for people to treat in place wherever they live and the VA hospitals to be closed and sold off. Just switch it to an insurance policy system and stop maintaining separate facilities.

 

The poor treatment veterans receive in VA hospitals is nothing new.

Unfortunately, budget cuts hit the VA hard, after all, saving these marginal people is not nearly as important as increasing the tens-of-billions spent on defense to further enrich the war profiteers, and create thousands more wounded veterans to be ignored by the VA.

But, it has always been the bleeding-heart liberals fighting to get the veterans the help they need.

All the money spent on illegal aliens should be stopped and given to the VA.

 

This is yet another reason why we need a national health service for everyone and then to fund it and keep it free of corruption.

Hmm interesting. I work about mile away from that VA hospital. I have a few vet friends that swear that place purposely avoids treating altogether. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

 

I like the song 'Surfer Joe' brings me way back, but disagree with the subject. I hope I live to see all liberals in line behind 30 million extra people who will get ' FREE CARE' for all their extra large families. And this is just the illegals, not even counting legal poor. Right now hospitals are closing and meds are rising in price like insurance premiums.

Not only are most from places with high mortality raters and come here sick already with chronic illness, but they also live unhealthy lifestyles, as do many of us of course but there is more who will not be paying than those who will.

 

You know, I'm an American working in England, and in the UK, all prescription meds cost a small, set fee, and become free after age 62 and before 18.
You go to any pharmacy and have your prescription filled without any extra paperwork or questions about insurance.
It is part of a single payer system called the NHS.
In Miami, my dad in his 80s had to pay hundreds of dollars per month for a prescription (one among several) and had to juggle a bunch of bureaucratic red tape, insurance and co-payment nonsense just to get his meds.
America has a lot to learn from others when it comes to better healthcare services.

 

And who do you plan on funding this? just the people that work or should benefit recipients show up at these hospitals to clean bedpans take out the trash and mop the floors, or basically pitch in any way they can to help defray the costs? Would you agree to that utopian idea?

 

This is pretty terrible but it sounds to me like we need to direct more funding to these hospitals so they can hire more staff to see the patients.

And before all of you make a mess in your britches tripping over yourselves to attack Obama, keep these things in mind so that you can direct your ire at ALL of those people who share in responsibility, as well as keeping in mind all those who've voted to expand access.
