A critique based on his actual observations as a high profile republican politician? Or for some odd reason trying to distance himself from the GOP?

In a rather direct accusation, Crist cites the treatment of the president based on the president’s race as one of the reasons he left the GOP.

Certainly we have an element of anti-black racism in this country. We can look around the forum and see a fair amount of it. Whilst I am sure there is a higher prevalence of anti-black racism within the GOP and I think that they certainly provide a refuge for the poorly disguised racist, I find it difficult to believe that at such a level that Crist moved in it was prevalent to the point where he claims, and if it was, then why not call them out on it?

Florida gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Crist once explained that he bolted the Republican Party in 2010 because it had become “more strident and more difficult.”

Now, he adds, the GOP’s reactions to President Obama because of his race were a “big reason” for his party switch.

“I couldn’t be consistent with myself and my core beliefs and stay with a party that was so unfriendly toward the African-American president, I’ll just go there,” Crist, now a Democrat, said in an interview with Fusion TV. “I was a Republican, and I saw the activists and what they were doing; it was intolerable to me.”

As an independent, Crist lost the 2010 Senate race to Republican Marco Rubio. His embrace of Obama — literally — at an event in 2009 promoting the president’s economic stimulus program helped sink his Senate campaign.

Crist endorsed Obama for a second term and spoke on his behalf at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Crist registered as a Democrat late in December 2012 before declaring himself as a candidate for the governor’s job he held for one term.

Polls show Crist is locked in a battle with GOP Gov. Rick Scott, the man who succeeded him, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Obama campaigns for Crist this fall.

Crist made similar comments about the GOP’s attitudes toward Obama being based on race during an appearance this year on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. In that interview with Stephen Colbert, Crist said he hadn’t seen the same “level of vitriol” directed at white presidents, such as John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson or Jimmy Carter.

Crist's comments might not have so much credibility.....if not for Cliven Bundy and the adoration he got from Republicans from Rand Paul to Cruz to Hannity.

So, that either means Charlie Crist agrees with everything that Obama has done so far or if not, then he himself is a racist.

    Which is it????

So besides having no scruples, no consistent views which sway with the currents, no loyalty, he's also a blatant racist. What a wonderful guy. He is the epitome of everything bad about politicians. Why do we even allow people like this to run still?

Oh geez; yet another playing the race card to get attention. How novel......that's never been done before!!>>>>>NOT.

"So unfriendly to African Americans???" Has he got some examples of that claim? Does that mean that no one can disagree with the policies of someone who is black??? Because it sounds to me like that is EXACTLY what he means. When in the world are Dems EVER going to work towards fulfilling MLK's dream.....which was to come to the place where we could "judge someone by the content of their character and not the color of their skin?" I'm sorry....but IMHO, Obama's policies SUCK. And that was evident almost from the moment he took office. It was also evident early on that he didn't mean a word he said during the campaign OR during his speech at the 2004 DNC convention either.

How would Dems like it IF everytime they said something negative against Condoleeza Rice or condemned her policies that we said back...."Well, you're just racist AND sexist?"

Same with Sarah Palin; a Democrat criticizes her....shall we just call them sexist????

I think if one looks at this race card thing objectively, they would see it's not about Obama's race; it's about his policies.......which in the opinion of many, and growing daily....SUCK big time. I think he's the worst president in my lifetime; I think he's set us back decades and decades in race relations because he's so divisive; and I think he's run the country as if he were a Dictator. He's lawless....and if he weren't black, he'd already been put out of office for all he's done. So....actually his race is protecting him.

Calling Republicans names is completely justified. Making fun of their education, family, background. Liberals are completely OK with it. What, you didn't get the memo?

Please provide your proof of a higher prevalence of anti-black racism within the GOP

    Thank you
