Putin is looking a lot like an undemocratic Obama. He is not backing up his pro-Russian thugs in southeastern Ukraine (note the recent Donetsk fight) and you have to believe the mild pro-Russian types are losing heart for the concept. The recent election suggests this, as the results from Russian-influenced Ukraine OUTSIDE OF CRIMEA seem to show a weakening of support for the Russian unionists.

On the other hand, Ukraine faces a tough couple of years. There is endemic corruption and an overreliance on Russian energy and the existing government debt, plus the military costs and what will undoubtably be near-constant Russian harassment. If the EU and the USA doesn't back the Ukraine in a big way and/or if the IMF is too brutal in its requirements, we could still see a Ukrainian economic meltdown and a resurgence of pro-Russian feeling.

Then the same standard should be used for anyone who takes up arms against their government. Shouldn't we then be labeling our heros such as George Washington; 'terrorists'?

Obviously you haven't seen the evidence, so here it is:

you are right. taking up arms against the govt. is not an act of terrorism, as long as you only fight and target combatants.

however, targeting and killing civilians including civilian govt. employees, is terrorism.

Poroshenko isn't the president yet, it's the same 'Nazi' junta who are committing the attacks. As for Poroshenko, he's another mafia character, and one of the richest men in the world, kind of like the one that's been accused of massacring and burning the people in Odessa. Putin is no neophyte in handling criminals of this sort. He handled the Russian ones who ran off with all of Russia's wealth in the 1990's, (they're all dead), and he can handle the Ukrainian criminals as well.

a "criminal" in Russia is anyone who dares to criticize Putin.

Putin deals with these so-called "criminals", like the Gestapo.

So what? Your imaginary world is kind of static. It's a picture that is painted and never changes. If Russia is regional power than it should stay like this. If US is the only superpower it should stay like this forever and ever. In fact the world around you is rapidly changing. Starting position of RF is much better than the one which USSR had. Luckily there is no force to make Russia pursuing the aim of becoming the only superpower of the world. The world is too big and it seems that Russia understood it.

As long as it is Russia I will be able to go to Crimea without any visas and have a good time in a wonderul region where I have never been before. If I am wrong and Crimea is not Russia I will not be able to do that.

I do know Putin, more than you could expect ...

Pay attention that Ukraine is no more a province of the Soviet Empire. From Moscow they haven't got any right to interfere with Kiev.

    The question is :

at which point will "our good friend" Vladimir Vladimirovich push the new expansion of the Russian sphere of influence?

Now, it's all on his side. He has to make next move on the chessboard.

I wonder why most western people so concerned about the interests of Russia, why the majority do not want to see this whole bloody chaos that made NATO in Africa and Asia too? Perhaps all this western majority are real idiots.

No, it's about geopolitical competition. We are competitors, nothing more simple than that.

Not at all. Your idea is senseless. First I told that westerners have a tradition to recognize facts only after a considerable time passed. Hundred years ago they were waiting before recognising USSR. This time they hope that something will happen and russians from Crimea will give up their dream from 1991 and rejoin Ukraine in order to be killed rather than to live in the country which they always considered their own.
You tried to prove that I was wrong by an idiotic statement that USSR is not Russia. Later you explained that USSR was a superpower and Russia is just a regional power... I could already make a joke that westerner recognise only those facts which are given to them by superpowers..., which will be a sad truth. :)

You are wrong, he has two fabrics in Russia- in Lipeck and in the village Sencovo. If Poroshenko is a bad guy, Putin will have to nationalize these fabrics :icon_picknose:
