One thing is for sure. In almost every "major" intervention we make the situation worse.

You forgot Bill Clinton bombing a pharma company in Sudan who offered cheap drugs to thousands of poor people all because of bad intel that Bin Laden owned it and hid weapons there.

Thousands died cause they now couldn't afford the drugs.

This made Bin Laden furious. You know the rest.

    Yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_support_for_Iraq_during_the_Iran–Iraq_war

That would be the Americans, again. Administration after administration prove themselves to be blundering imbeciles, desperate for hegemony at any cost-including the inevitable blowback like 9-11 which caused such outrage! I mean, how dare they fight back? That isn't in the playbook...

Aren't you disturbed by the fact that the lunatics appear to have taken control of the asylum?

Why? After all; it was pretty clear that Iraq was essentially a ticking time-bomb post-Hussein, and since Prime Minister Al-Malaki basically destroyed everything America worked so hard on to stabilize Iraq by not try to do broad power-sharing, he reneged on all the deals that had been made, stopped paying the Sunni tribes and militias, and started persecuting key Sunni officials. He also purged the Iraqi army of some of its most capable leaders; and he was basically being adamant that there should be no US troops of any kind in Iraq by 2011, since his government is known to be close allies with Iran.

The belief system of the Sunnis is that Shias are heretics, and must always hold a lower position than the Sunnis, so could it be that the Maliki government began to feel threatened and was trying to protect the Shia majority and their rights? If I recall correctly, the great instigator and known trouble maker Devotoglu, who is Turkey's foreign minister, had been reprimanded by Hillary Clinton a few years back for going to Iraq and arousing the Sunni population against the Shias.

Should you blame everything wrong on this planet on Turkey? The fighters you mention were not ISIS. In fact ISIS bastards are kidnapping (for ransom) or slaughtering Turks in region, especially in Iraq.

What part of the plot is not obvious?
    1. The ISIS has control of Iraqi SCUD missiles.
    2. German and Dutch PATRIOT anti missile units on the Turkish border will be sent home within the next few months (already announced).
    3. After the ISIS has fired a SCUD on Turkey the "NATO defense case" will apply, all NATO contract partners will be obliged to fight Iraq, no matter if ISIS having fired on Turkey or the government not having been able to prevent it.

Who are being engulfed and surrendering to ISIS as we speak, so ISIS is getting all those weapons we sent over there, so indirectly we are supporting them...

ISIS seems to be for real, they stormed through Iraq so far. Iraq has to be far more war weary than we are, and they aren't really united. I could see some factions going for a separate peace or joining them instead of fighting them...

Oh we'll be joining ISIS in the end, we have to because in Washington's minds they're the 'winners', and the others losers.

The human heart eating ones who we consider moderates, and gave five hundred million in support will be no more. We have now ISIS the super moderates, who is a much more worthy and reliable partner.
