Good Old Sam Colt, the greatest equalizer around considering criminals don't follow laws....eh? I mean we all agree it is against the law to break into some ones home....sheesh imagine some expect bad people to follow laws

Sheesh, imagine supporting laws that enable criminals to obtain firearms in the first place....

Yup, let's all pretend that owning a gun is some sort of magic remedy for all life's risks, rather than a potential source of firearms for the very offenders you're so paranoid about...

Yup, because nothing says "customer service" like shooting a disgruntled customer. After all, bullets are cheaper than refunds.

The last line of the story said "charges are pending". We are held responsible for every bullet that leaves our gun in Texas. We demand to be allowed to defend ourselves and accept the reponsibility if we screw up. If the barber is in the wrong, he will be dealt with and the public will learn from his mistake.

On the plus side, there's a room available for anyone interested in a well-armed room mate!

    A) Charges are "pending"...?
    B) Defend yourself from what? Other people with guns, or just disgruntled customers?
    C) Why would anyone learn from this mistake, when they clearly haven't learned from previous ones?
    D) Allowing people to shoot each other and then cleaning up the mess is a failure that has lead to many dead and many incarcerated, but no solutions.

At least the mother now has some sense...
Of course, I doubt "reckless endangerment" will ever be uttered in court as a result of this incident.

When I watch this video, I feel ashamed to be an American.

Nothing says "self defense" like following somebody with your loaded gun out.

The notion that guns solve problems is disturbing and I've never found it in any other country during my travels.

Both idiots are being charged with their crimes. I guarantee the dude with the gun will lose his CHL if he had one. The idiot who started the fight is facing assault charges for shooting his wife. The whole video is a lot of fail, but how many stories have appeared in this thread where guns were used properly and saved the outcome of the story from being much worse?

No right is absolute. They end where the rights of others' begin. Until we cross that line, we have the right to keep and bear arms. It's in the Constitution.

That is not what happened to me. I first ran away. When running was no longer an option I turned and drew a gun from my jacket. The 5+ attackers turned away an ran.

At least you had the means, if the rabid anti-gun had their way, the police would have had to draw the chalk outline around you and splain why they couldn't be there for you...eh!

No matter how many incidents are posted on here, they all seem to illustrate one of several points:
    1) "bad guys" often find it way too easy to get guns
    2) "self defense" works best against an unarmed bad guy
    3) many folks are willing to use guns as a first resort, even when their lives aren't endangered.

And then you have situations like this one:

You have an interesting view of what "self defense" is. How was this idiot defending himself from an unarmed family in their own home?

This has not been investigated yet, but I would bet that he had a restraining order against him and wasn't allowed to possess firearms. I guess we will see how it unfolds soon enough.

I was trained by two police officers who used guns in the line of duty. I know 3 vets from Vietnam who used a lot of guns. I know one vet from Afghanistan and all of them said the same thing. Taking the first human life was the most toughest thing they ever did. It got easier, but it was always a very difficult thing to do at first. So I don't believe your #3 one bit. I have my own incident and was scared to death and thought I was going to be dead. Yet I froze when I turned around to shoot my attackers. Maybe you need to actually talk to people who know about killing people.

See how a gun is an equalizer....it was 3 against one.

Then you will LOVE the no milk today ad on the other thread. But what I have observed is that we, and the UK get regular news reports like this - we do not get the gunshot reports you seem to - and every time I see a list from some blog claiming lots of self defence I think of the research where they took those reports to several criminal judges and a large proportion which originally claimed self defence turned out to be aggression on the part of the gun owner

By all means, please keep posting your plethora of examples then. I love em. Also please post the research you have where they took those reports to several criminal judges where a large portion of self defense claims turned out to be aggression on the part of gun owners. We should expose those bad gun owners eh? Where do you get your regular reports?
