Every American citizen should be pushing for the government to secure the border. More and more children are putting themselves in a dangerous position to come here illegally. It is irresponsible to keep something like our border situation that keeps attracting people to such danger.

There is no good argument to keep the border like this. Secure it now before more children lose their lives. Obama claimed the border was secure....once again he lied. It is time to stop the blaming and finger pointing. It is time for action. Secure the border!

You are absolutely correct, the magnet has to be stopped, our laws must be enforced and steps must be taken to humanly deal with this crisis.
My heart goes out to the parents and family who lost this child, and I can't imagine what this kid must have gone through before death finally ended his suffering.

But I must also ask who is responsible for this. Is it the parents, the family, or is it our administrations, past and current, for enabling such tragedy? IMHO, both the parents and our law makers need to do some serious soul searching, and our Prez should simply be ashamed of himself.
Innocent children are being caught in a crossfire. This has to stop.

Folks this is one of many tragic stories that go along with out unsecured border. People say illegals do jobs that citizens won't do...so what? They are being exploited big time. I have seen it first hand. There are illegal immigrants that are forced to work very long hours for little pay and no benefits. I have seen it. One worker I know of was severely injured on the job and was simply replaced. He had no rights like citizen workers and is disabled now....with NO benefits.

Again, just one of many examples of tragic stories created by our unsecure border. Everyone should be for securing the border. There is no excuse for it.

I say strictly enforce the existing laws and create new one's that make employment of illegals a felony offense with mandatory jail terms for owners of businesses who hire them if convicted.

4 children were just executed in Texas. Others are starving. Lets not act like you wanna help American children. Or are even concerned about non american children.

I blame the parents less. The reason is because I lived in Mexico and have travelled to South America. I have seen some pretty dire situations and grinding poverty that is really heart breaking. These parents are taking a huge risk to escape very bad situations. Our government is playing politics. It is that simple. The temptation. Is too great and must be removed.

I have been thru the immigration process and it sucks. It is expensive and takes forever with no guarantee of getting a visa. If we need these workers we need a better way to get them here and protect them as well. If everyone pushed for this it would happen.

I think we do plenty to aid the poor around the world including are own , most people getting assistance are children . It is unfortunate those kids were killed by a nut job. Who was hell bent on killing . He would of just found another way .

    http://www.childtrends.org/?indicators=child-recipients-of-welfareafdctanf

Of In 2010, children made up three-quarters of TANF recipients.[2] InOf families receiving TANF, half had one child, and a bit more than one-quarter (28 percent) had two children.[3] In many cases, the child is the only beneficiary in the household, because the parent is ineligible or the child does not live with a parent; these cases accounted for 46 percent of all TANF cases in the 2010 fiscal year.[4] The average monthly cash payment to a family with one child was $327 a month,[5] but most TANF families receive other, non-cash assistance. In the 2009 fiscal year, 98 percent of TANF families received medical assistance, 81 percent received food stamps, 14 percent had subsidized housing, and nine percent had subsidized childcare.[6] - See more at: http://www.childtrends.org/?indicators=child-recipients-of-welfareafdctanf#sthash.hHHpleMl.dpuf

Well, if that is true, why in the heck should we encourage these illegals to come here? I mean, if (according to you) we can't take care of our own.....

Thanks for the off topic post but you are just pointing out more examples of how people don't seem to care. These situations should not happen either.

The boy was actually 15 and he left home so that he could try to work in the US to buy medicine for his mother.

So they can easily and legally leave Detroit. Unless they are orphans their families can leave Detroit.

Wow. Of course, business is the first place you would choose to enforce this law. How incredibly liberal of you; thankfully, it will never happen.

I say we should put the National Guard throughout the border and point guns at all of these ILLEGALS. Give them a choice whether to turn back; to face arrest and immediate deportation; to proceed and be killed.

11 year old "boy", right. In those cultures 11 year olds can already have murder, drug dealing, violent assaults and robberies etc under their belt. I am reserving judgment until more information is learned about this "boy".

How charitable of you; kill people when you can; you would not well in the diplomatic corps. Of course it's people like you with your twisted viewpoints who refuse the recognize the truth of the matter. Eliminate jobs and you'll see a drastic reduction in illegal immigration, but don't let the truth cloud your vision.

They're being forced to work there? Really? So, American business owners are going down to Mexico and Guatemala and dragging these people over the border and imprisoning them on the work-site? Because that's what "forced" means.

Or maybe it has something to do with the war on drugs and the political and economic instability it causes in Central and Southern America.

Wouldn't that require a mass deportation?

That's incredibly harsh. Why should business owners be solely responsible for the federal government's failure to secure its own border? Why not throw charities into jail for providing illegal immigrants with free housing and food? Why single out business owners?

It's ILLEGAL for a reason. I would give them a chance to turn back or be deported, WELL BEFORE shooting them is an option. At the end of the day, it's their choice whether they want to commit a crime or not; their actions should hold consequences.

What makes me feel the worst about these poor people from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador is that it is so difficult for them to escape those people from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that are making their lives so miserable.

You will wish you were dead if you tried to barge your way into Mexico, illegally invading that country, with the Policia Federal chasing your ass with carbines and vehicle-mounted machine guns. Their special elite paramilitary police force, known as the Policia Azul (dark blue uniforms) don't put up with any **** at all. You mess with those guys and they'll hurt you, before they kill you.... They must be laughing themselves sick at the idea of the hopeless, helpless "giant", the United States, being completely unwilling to stop this illegal invasion in our country.... Believe me, there would never be an illegal invasion of the Republic of Mexico. Their police and military would "deal" with it immediately!

That gets to the point. Why is Mexico allowing the Central Americans to not only cross the Mexican border, but also pass through the entire nation of Mexico on trains bound for the US border? Who benefits from this? Is this a voter registration drive for the Democrats in the US?
