Hey Genius, they Civil Rights Act was created in the first place specifically with black people in mind. No we didnt put black people in concentration camps, but we did in fact put them on slave plantations for centuries and than mass imprisonment for over a century more along with Jim Crow laws.

Most people do not even interact with Asians on a day to day basis because they are such a small part of the population, but most of us do interact somewhat with black people in our daily lives leaving far more room for racism than with the Asian Community. Its hard to be racist against a race you have never met, but most people have met black people and they have seen them do illegal things, making them far more likely to be racist towards them than towards Asians. Why always the deflection away from what white people did to Africans? Why always use excuses like "Well we screwed over Asians too and they are doing fine!!!" what a horrible sick excuse that is.

There is absolutely no evidence for free will shaping our behavior, there is endless evidence that genetics and environment shape our behavior. Please, show me the evidence that free will exists. No, "I made a decision, herp derp, free will", if you really believe making decisions is free will you are delusional, which is fine, we are all delusional because free will is indeed an illusion that we all fall for, but scientifically there is absolutely no evidence for it.

How was I insulting you directly? I never said it applied to every black person.

It's the last element I have problems with. Now I was occasionally sneered at by some low-intelligence Whites in my youth because my ancestors were from Sicily, which meant that I had significantly darker skin than our generally northern European descended neighbors, but I got the grades that I earned in school and I got jobs when the time came. Certainly the military had no trouble with my skin tone, and once I went to college, again I got what grades I earned. Post college life? No problems there. What some ignorant or bigoted or racist Whites thought about me did not matter to my situation.

Mostly I hear deep paranoia in Black laments about Whites, but upon examination of their stories I don't find actual one on one treatment any different from that of any other ethnicity. Societal structure primarily responds to attitude and if a person has a chip on his or her shoulder and leads with accusations rather than with smiles and courtesies then, yes, he or she is likely to have a somewhat rough time of it.

Here's the deal though; it does not matter what White people think of anyone, what matters is what the law says and racial and ethnic equality is nowadays embedded in the system BY LAW. That's really all that's important. Nonetheless if Blacks as a community are absolutely determined to continue feeling sorry for themselves and voluntarily assume the victim's roll in life there's nothing to stop them from living out that lifestyle from cradle to grave. The Left has seen to that, and so there is something for everybody. The ones who want up and out of their debilitating culture and lifestyle has a realistic shot of doing so if he or she is really willing to work at it, turn their backs on negative peer pressures and the temptation to just drift along while voluntarily 'eating bitterness'. Those that don't can sit around doing basically nothing while continuing to swallow everything that's constantly tossed their way by professional leftwing race hustlers.

It's odd when you get sneered at only because you are a little darker than others, not even black... makes me think there are some real nuts around there. Think that i was sometimes mocked because i was too white lol.

It's just humans being humans. Once one gets past skin pigmentation then we are at heart predators with only oversized brains and a uniquely hands opposal thumbs arrangement to give us an edge over our prey and over competing predators. So it's not at all shocking that a numerically dominant skin color sometimes act a bit jerky towards skin tone minorities. What's shocking is when that same dominant majority makes doing that set of bad habits illegal where the legal system and general hiring and educational practices are concerned and then exhibits a consistently good faith effort to even-handedly enforce their new system. It's just that after fifty years and counting of such good faith efforts it gets ridiculous for minority groups to all the time be shrieking that "Nothing's changed!" when in reality it's all changed for the significantly better.

I believe there is an international culture of poverty that involves excessive drug and alcohol use, a tendency to participate it risky behavior, and a fatalism that devalues human life.

Well there's political interest you know... minorities are voters. Not that the white conservatives aren't doing their interests. Everyone pushes his agenda, but i think the fight against racism is far from being over. Actually there is a rise of racism expecially here in europe.

Sure, but then again the rise of racism in Europe makes economic and cultural sense upon examination as it all boils down to available land area and resources, as well as separate national laws regulating the usage of same. Regardless of it being called the European Union it's not the United States of America, a place not only founded by peoples of more or less common ancestries but that enshrined a certain sort of eclecticism into their ruling documents from the get go and regardless of whether or not they mostly honored principles in the breech did generally believe in them -- in theory anyway; or at least as guiding principles as long as nobody was going to actually make communities live by them. But the foundational groundwork was already in place.

But Europe on the other hand possesses a very, very lengthy and storied history of REAL barbarism and flashes of exalted civilization, of genuine feudalism, and the on site results of both The Reformation and The Age of Enlightenment. Vast wars were fought across its length and width not so very long ago. Things are different in Europe regardless of Europeans enjoying access to sports networks and the cooking channel, despite wearing blue jeans and having invented the high fashion industries. One of those primary differences is the perspective on national borders versus state borders.

In the United States there's almost no way that individual states will ever restrict travel in any way from state to state or have a public educational system that vary's widely in certain fundamentals nor demand passports and yet it's definitely not beyond bounds that Europe could begin returning to that sort of thing tomorrow if certain things were to happen. My point being that despite individualistic state pride we really are The UNITED States of America and so we tend to think of all of our resources and population and so forth and so on as being ONE. In the European Union, however, just beneath the surface it's still individual nations voluntarily cooperating with one another, and on a subconscious level if nothing else the average citizen is aware that the old days could return tomorrow, meaning that the resources and so forth really do BELONG to each individual nation regardless of how much 'sharing' is currently in vogue. Thus there are land usage and resources issues for the E.U. that simply do not exist inside the U.S.

All that means is that when the E.U. flings its borders open for ethnic or racial minorities with dramatically different customs and LOYALTIES to flood within (for whatever reason) the results are generally different from when -- say -- the U.S. gets flooded by millions of illegal aliens from south of the border. For one thing they can go anywhere they want from the initial entry point of the southern states to Alaska if they want, though mostly they don't. Mostly they stay in the south were they can easily find work and speak their own language. But mostly it just doesn't matter, because in a couple of generations they become essentially loyal and opinionated and valuable U.S. citizens and also in some places they become the new middle class.

So, back to Europe. There's pretty much no where for these people to go and even despite learning the local language and customs there's far less liklihood that they will ever fully assimilate and in their heart of hearts become French or Spanish, German, or Italian; not really.

It's a bit deeper than that, of course. But there are deep structural reasons why the racial problems inside the E.U. are more substantive in nature than they are inside the United States despite our leftwingers all the time blowing every incident into gigantic proportions with their insanely anti-ethical and sensationalized reporting. The Left very deliberately MADE the Trayvon Martin versus George Zimmerman case a racial one by actually changing the skin pigmentation of George Zimmerman and ignoring the fact that he was actually a freaking activist in the local Black community and mentored young Black men, helping to improve their reading skills. Similarly that same Left-biased Mainstream Media deliberately used as their key 'witness' the man who turned out to be both the co-suspect in the robbery and the co-perpetrator of the assault on the officer while treating said witness' blatantly self-serving statements as the word of one of God's own angels. So ginning up events as bogus racial issues has become standard operational procedures on the Left with this nation's Mainstream Media and so Europeans KNOW as a result that the U.S.A. is a hellhole of racial EVIL . . . when it's really not.

I agree. I also think that it ends up being promoted by the Left when you get right down to it with their sneering all the time at traditional cultural values such as hard work, self reliance, honor, integrity, ethics, community service, charity, and so forth and so on. But all they have to replace those cultural values with is . . . big government and Politically Correct thought policing efforts. But then I've gone a bit cynical this morning. Too much early in the day thinking and not enough drinking tea and attending to mundane but necessary work . . . and so I think I'll set the keyboard aside for now and get some things done before I depress myself.

In many ways, the culture of poverty is self-perpetuating. I grew up in such a culture and if a kid worked hard, did his homework, and read his books he was ragged not just by other kids but by adults, too. And, if adults looked like they might work their way out of poverty the others would desperately try to pull them back down. The whine of "there's nothing you can do" doesn't work if people around you are doing something. Just as the Democrats. They spend a fortune convincing poor people there is nothing they can do.

But so much poverty and segregation of blacks compared to whites was originated by their exploitation as slaves back in the times, so now you are forced to do something about it, unless you want the gap to become even larger. My bet is conservatives aren't good at this, and they would end up dividing america between the rich white class and the poor minorities.

I'm very happy that things worked out for you having to grow up with only a mother. But that isn't usually the way it happens. It's hard to raise kids being a single parent. They are working hard, then have to cook supper, do the laundry, clean house and all the other duties that a single parent does. That usually doesn't give them a lot of time parenting. They are gone to much and usually dead tired at the end of the day, giving kids a lot of free time on their hands. That free time usually gets kids in trouble and that is where the big difference comes in. That's how kids get in trouble, get in gangs and how we lose our kids. I think the lack of having two parents is the biggest problem within the Black community and if we are going to change things it has to begin with Black fathers staying with their families.

Why do you think it is black fathers dont stay, but Asian fathers do?

There is only one of two answers, genetics or environment.

Free Will does not exist and there is absolutely not a shread of evidence for it, all evidence points in the opposite direction. So choose, is it genetic or the environment?

Yes, there is a British novelist -- Terry Pratchett -- who calls such thinking 'Crap Bucket', which is essentially when those around you try like hell to drag you back down any time you look to be moving up and out via your own efforts. The point being, however, that mostly it's your own family, friends, and community members doing that to you and NOT the greater community of people who not only don't know you from Adam but that just might cheer you on after discovering what you are attempting to do in order to better your life.

Which is inextricably associated with the other subcultures that are a part of this nation. (That's kind of like the 'world', in a way.)

Perhaps. Even so, we are all communicating to other human beings; that isn't really an exact science.

Yes there is in fact evidence of free will. There is only limited evidence for genetics and environment shaping behavior.

Show me the evidence for free will, we are all already aware of how environment and genetics affect our behavior.

What you are not aware of obviously is that many many things affect our behavior and nothing dictates it.

Every individual is a vast and complex collection of factors which make up what they are and what they do and how they behave.

Genetics cannot prove everything about what people do and neither can environment. Neither can free will but it can prove and explain some things as can love or hatred which also have no evidence to prove they exist.

From the start of your op your error is assuming that any person's behavior can be explained by psychologists. It cannot try reading a psychology book which you cleary have never perused. They discuss free will often.
