Apparently much of these monies were dispersed to 'friends of Perry' including BIG political donors, some not even having to APPLY formally for the funds. And the ATTORNEY GENERAL, Greg Abbott, now running for Governor 'enabled the lack of transparency'...

Damning Audit Of Texas Enterprise Fund Finds Negligence By Governor Perry’s Office, Aided By Greg Abbott
By Joe Deshotel on SEPTEMBER 28, 2014 Legislature

A scathing Texas State Auditor’s report found that the Texas Enterprise Fund, oft-referred to as Gov. Perry’s slush fund, doled out upwards of $200 million to companies that never even filled out an application to receive them.

The audit was conducted after a bill by Senator Wendy Davis passed to address whether the funds were be appropriately administered. Davis responded to the report stating that “this is exactly why we need to root out the old insider network in Austin.”

That message and the results of the report which also implicates Greg Abbott, by way of an anti-transparency ruling made by the Attorney General, follows the theme of her campaign painting Abbott as an insider working for other insiders and another member of the boy’s club long led by Gov. Perry.

The detailed document accused the Office of Governor of not protecting the financial interests of the state, not providing decision makers with complete and accurate information related to awards, inconsistency in the awarding process, and not fully complying with statutory provisions in reporting on the fund itself.

The State Auditor’s report states: The Office did not consistently maintain key documentation of its TexasEnterprise Fund awarding processes. As a result, it was not always possible to determine how the Office made awarding decisions.”

In the first 10 years the fund disbursed just over $500 million to awardees and the report stated that, “It was not always possible to determine how the Office made awarding decisions.” The Auditor’s report strongly recommended that...

Texas is a land of ongoing success and endless opportunity; Texans aren't too shy about telling people about it, either. It's not bragging if it's true, however, and the Lone Star State’s winning mix of low taxes, reasonable regulatory structure, fair court system and world-class workforce has been paying dividends in terms of press recognition, economic rankings and, most importantly, good jobs for hard-working Texans. Here is just some of the evidence supporting Texans’ contention that the Lone Star State is the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family.

    How Texas Measures Up

Texas has taken an approach that is as simple as it is revolutionary.

Dude, it doesn't matter. Wendy davis is such a loon that Beelzebub himself could defeat her in an election.

Face it, dude. The Democrats nominated a throwaway candidate. No amount of DNC/Soros propaganda lies can change that.

You call it a slush fund. Well, that's exactly what it is and it is effective.

I'm sure that if elected Ms. Davis would take ample advantage of said slush fund in probably a very like manor as Gov. Perry. I'm also sure that a Gov. Davis would include 'Battleground Texas' - or some related enterprise - as one of her griftees.
