Of course the Chinese are going to populate Siberia, it would be a pity to have that land go to waste, and I'm sure Vladimir Putin realized that this was something that had to be done. He made a million and one deals with China to develop the area and there is no way that Russia can produce the man power that is going to be needed for all those projects.

From what Putin said once about restoring the Medieval 'Rus' Empire, and that he wanted a loose federation of Slavic states sort of the way the Soviet Union was, doesn't seem like he had Siberia on his mind. Most of the money invested, at least for the gas pipelines will be Russian.

Так. China is in a very sweet position where Russia is concerned, pretty much having that massive, resource-rich land and its government and people right where they want them.

However, that does not mean a war is in the making. There is no telling what the Chinese are planning for real, and there is no telling whether or how such plans will play out in reality later on anyway.

The Russians will have to beware of a large portion of their country - a resource-rich portion, no less - being largely populated by foreigners. How Russified will those Chinese become? Might there not be a future Crimea-type event in the future, when those Chinese immigrants and/or their descendants might seek to leave Russia and be annexed by China?

If anybody thinks that the cultures of China and Russia can mix they are not students of history. Each will use the other for it's own gain and drop the "alliance" the second a real commitment is necessary. Putin is just a footnote in history.

Actually, Litwin supports the US backed hijacker terrorist fascists in Kiev.
And so called Western Liberal stuff is basically Talmud oriented just like fascsim is.

Either Litwin is locked into the dialectics of the war crazies or he's working for them, or maybe both.
Enjoy your ride with Lord Esau while it lasts.

I'm sorry, but I took Chinese history in college for several years and I NEVER saw maps that showed China as extending to the Arctic Ocean. There are maps that show it extending a little bit to the North, at certain times and it may have CLAIMED that territory, but China's actual control of the area was nominal at best. The last great ruling Dynasty of China, the Manchus, were from the North, but not nearly that far up. China did legitimately extend West almost to the Black Sea in the Later Han, should Russia have to return the Kansu Corridor?

Neither one of these nations is going to war, especially over territory. China is bigger now than it has ever been and Russia is still the biggest nation in the world, even being the rump state it is. Neither one really needs or wants more acreage to preside over.

a war? , China does not need it. it deals with the amoral , isolated, addicted to oil-gas state , which desperately needs money , so who except Red Hans can give money (not much but still) to Putler´s regime?

But we are not talking about forest and zoos. In Russia, bears live in the cities. In Russia, bears drink vodka, playing on the balalaika and eat all who do not like Putin. It is known to every liberal, gay and democratic journalist.

Fans of the Talmud. Do not you understand? Lack of education, or the difficulties of translation?

Then we agree, China can buy what it needs cheaper than fighting over it.. This will lead Russia and China to become backward states getting resources from the ground while the USA uses technology to recycle our needs. When they run out of resources in 2100 we can make even more money teaching them how to do the same.
