All these jobs plans were held up by Harry Reid. I don't remember you complaining about it.

    https://runyan.house.gov/legislative-work/jobs-plan/republican-jobs-bills-passed-house-representatives

Ever ask yourself why Obama went to Health care and didn't prioritize job creation when the country was coming out of the worst economic situation since the Depression?

You might be right. We'll just have to wait and see.

Of course. You elected the most left wing President in modern American history and his plans are disastrous and destructive. Stopping him was a good thing. Look at how things got better after 2010 when he lost total control of Government.

The GOP didn't do anything to stop what he had done in the previous two years.

Do you understand them? Remember when George HW Bush reached across the aisle and agreed to a tax compromise with the Democrats? Did they applaud his gesture of bipartisanship? Nope. They beat his brains in for it, and it's the reason he was a 1 term President.

You trust them at your own peril. Don't say you weren't warned.

They stopped him from continuing to do what he wanted. And things got better. If it wasn't for the Republican house, we'd have gun control bills up the ying-yang right now. There'd probably be another stimulus. Millions of illegals would be applying for the few jobs that remain out there. Minimum wage up to 15 an hour and millions of people priced out of the job market. Things would be A LOT worse right now if Obama still had the level of control that he did.

Show me my lies. And I hope to see the same kind of outrage from you when democrats obstruct that you seem to have for republicans when they did.

Lots of those bills had goofy Republican amendments that Republicans KNEW Democrats wouldn't accept.....they planned well.

Congratulations, the country didn't do as well as it could due to Republicans but who cares if they get elected....right?

I'm really happy Obama can't do what he wants now. Whether the Republicans do the right thing and oppose you and the rest of the left remains to be seen, but based on the "we are the world" type responses in this thread so far, including calls for AMNESTY, I'm not filled with a lot of confidence.

    - - - Updated - - -

How can that be though? You've complained about obstructionism. Wouldn't that make you a huge hypocrite?

Be happy....in a few short months the US will be a beautiful perfect Utopia.......I'll be waiting...:)

The thing is, there's gonna be so much Democrat bitterness even now much less come the morning that I can't really tell if this is hyperbole or if liberals really believe this.

They can't. The Dems put the Nuclear Option in place. Republicans can win anything with a simple 51 majority......just like Dems have been doing. Don't ya just hate it when Dem dirty tricks come back to bit them in the butt? :)

They really do. In their circles, which includes the media, they are taught to believe that Republicans aren't just wrong, they're evil. It's similar to American propaganda against the Germans during WW1.

You know, I was just thinking about that too - wonder what Harry Reid is thinking right about now?

It's not as if Dems were going to be the majority party FOREVER - but hey, he made his bed, now he has to lie in it! Thanks, Harry!

Hey - Maybe we should send him flowers?

They tipped their hand too early, I believe. They thought that the Hispanic invasion of the US was far enough along already that they would never have to worry about losing power again. But with libertarian Republicans like HB Surfer being completely willing to grant amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens, their wish may come true in the next election cycle. We'll see.

I meant on the general subject of being big government and screwing over Americans

    **sigh**

Again, it might be on pushing different issues, but when it comes down to it, they are just in it for themselves and not for the people of this country. They both strip rights, they both like the government spending money, just in different areas that can benefit them.

There is really no reason for Republicans to not do immigration reform. Having worked in California immigration, I can tell you that there's almost no barriers to low class people coming into the country and some of the highest barriers in the world for upper class people to come in and work legally. It's the opposite of what it should be. If bringing in more talented immigrants means limiting the bad ones it would be a crazy deal to pass up.

no it wont. it would take at least 20 years to undo all the damage that has been done to this country. an entire generation of youth has been permanently damaged. heck it will be another ten years before people are not off food-stamps. and that would be in a booming economy.

it takes a hell of a lot longer to build things up then it does to tear them down. hopefully this new wave will pave the way for the free market and things can stabilize enough that business owners will want to attempt expanding.

as far as the democrats go....they are going to have to reinvent their party. The communist platform has shown to be a disaster. the populace is rejecting it. look at the governorships.
