The result will still be gridlock, and probably a more aggressive executive push to overcome the gridlock. Even a slim GOP majority will probably not be able to deliver compromised bills to the presidents desks on issues like immigration reform. Obama WILL take executive action on citizenship - the GOP will become bitter and NOTHING will happen for two years.
They won't be going anywhere, if Republicans don't grant some of them citizenship then their kids will be citizens and vote for Democrats when they get older. Better to just end the whole thing now if possible.
Numerically that's almost an impossibility. They could make some huge gains and flip it in 2018 though.
As an Aussie im a bit confused, have the parties switched again, Dems just become Republicans in the last few weeks? because according to this forum i thought republicans were the old white racist guys that would never win another election? Yeah mustve switched.
I've been watching MSNBC and they are acting like they knew this was going to happen and that its no big deal. They are totally forgetting the past 2 years where they were saying the entire nation was turning against the republicans.
LOL, you're either full of (*)(*)(*)(*) or you weren't around at the time. toddwv spamming "(*)(*)(*)(*) YOU REPUGS" in multiple threads, at least a half a dozen liberal trolls bumping threads from 3-4 months in the past where some random conservative/Republican predicted Obama losing, etc. You guys are about the most obnoxious "winners" and only when you lose do you feign a moral high ground.
A lot of interesting assumptions that make absolutely no sense in my world, but... we shall see. I think if she runs she's an absolute shoo-in for the Democratic nomination given the fact 65% of Dems are currently rooting for her. The only candidates that present a threat to her path to the presidency are Bush and Paul IMO.
I'm sure it'll be spun as the last roar from dying old breathless white guys, or something. Though when you have Republicans believing amnesty for tens of millions of Hispanics is the way to go, it just may be.
Let's be honest - there will be almost no chiefly Republican legislation passed over the next two years. All this did was ensure the status quo.
i used to think that too until obama was elected. They are nothing alike in terms of ideology. Greed and corruption maybe.
Well, I'd say it's more like they're minimizing the results - I think Matthews said that with a slim majority any Republican can hold the leadership hostage. Rachel Maddow just said "When Scott walker wins, you win absolutely nothing". Gloating over their loss. Rather unreal.
I'd be hard pressed to note a bigger win...9 of 11 possible senate wins, 10 gains in the house, Walker wins in Wi and (so far) it looks like the gun grabbing governor of Colorado is being fired. Even Virginia is in recount territory, something no one saw.
even if thats true there will be no democratic legislature passed either which is a big win for conservatives. Just stopping the madness is huge. the governorships going red are major wins for the states. tillis taking out hagan is another step in the right direction to get NC back to the greatness it once was a short time ago.
They'd be gone if we kicked them out, and kept them from returning. There's lots we can do, but people like you wouldn't allow it. You'd rather join with progressives in thinking this is a good thing. http://www.politicalforum.com/political-opinions-beliefs/364287-we-could-stop-illegal-immigration-if-we-wanted.html
Its better to have both the kids and parents voting democrat than just the kids? I don't follow that logic and the more you try to deter illegal immigration the less of it you will have. If people know you don't take laws seriously they will be encouraged to break them, now and in the future.
Well that would be idiotic, if the parties havent switched then Dems will always be willing to forcibly remove your property to buy votes.
I'm not celebrating. Republicans are pretty much just 20 years behind Democrats on the liberal agenda. Both parties get to the same place eventually, and your comments are proof of that.
