Well, now we will see what the republican ideas are. At any rate it's all on Obama now because when bills start to pile up at his desk and he either veto's them or refuses to sign them it's going to be all on him...

IMO, I'd expect Obama to just act as a dictator for the next 2 years.

we've got him, now. The Repubs BETTER see to it that Obamacare gets repealed, or they'll find their butts out in the street next time, too. Along with the rest of the Dems! that law is an economic DISASTER. There's a reason why the 40 million had no insurance. they are unable to pay and are bad risks. We can't afford half of the stuff we do now, without making it many times worse! sheesh, man.

stopping obama IS progress. Obamacare is an economic disaster, as is continuing to let a million illegals per year invade our country.

You are correct. I saw it coming months ahead. Once Obamacare was forced on the public there was no turning back. I will also say Obama will make things worse for the democrats in his remaining 2 years. Some folks may not think it is possible but don't underestimate his idiocy.

I'm really not surprised. This comes up EVERY election; losers look stupid where winners gloat. Such is the nature of politicical debates on the net.

Personally, I'm not too surprised at all with the way people are reacting. The way people are more conservative these days, plus midterms, made it obvious Republicans were going to win the Senate (and ofcourse polls). But for people new to politics and realizing their first loss from their favorite party? It happens every time.

Then ofcourse you must remember the Greater Internet ****wad Theory, which I honestly think should also mean people will say ANYTHING if it's a popular site. Twitter and Facebook are like that every election. It pains me everytime I see either side use that as a talking point.

Oh come now is it really that bad? Just look at it as a Christian version of the Arab spring. Then a Christian version of ISIS will pop up and start eliminating people who disagree with them. Liberals seem to be OK with it happening in the Middle East.

This is just the typical political event. There's nothing unique about it and it happens on a routine basis. Some of the Western States have very few Dem voters so the Repubs will always win those regardless. In other places the Dems outnumber the Repubs and the Dem candidates could have won easily but the Dems didn't bother to vote. Overall voter turnout was very low. The good news is if the Repubs cause too much trouble they will be voted out rather quickly except for those in solid Repub mud holes.

I honestly expected this in 2012 since this current excuse of a president had
    been such an abysmal failure.

This election was refreshing in that this president's idiotic policies were finally
    rejected.

Let's all hope the GOP will take advantage of this victory and stop worrying
    about reaching across the aisle.

What good has reaching across the aisle ever done. In fact, when have the
Democrats ever reached across the aisle?

What a stupid concept. There has never been a reason to reach across
the aisle. We elected them to do what they promised to do.

It's time to take charge and fix what this administration has broken. Which
    is everything it's ever done.

Let's hope the GOP does the right thing.

    Here are the rules.

    1. Don't reach across the aisle. That doesn't work except in fiction
    2. Do what you were elected to do, i.e. don't reach across the aisle.
    3. When in doubt, resort to rule 1 then rule 2. Rule 3 will help if rules 1 and 2
aren't etched into your brain as to why you were elected.

Western states like California, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado? Udall won the Senate seat in Colorado, yet Hickenlooper was re-elected governor. Your interpretation doesn't quite line up with reality.

Absolutely. OWEblamer's arrogant response after getting his ass handed to him just shows how delusional he is and just how willing he is to double down on his failures and drag the democrat party down with him ala Clintons scorched earth policies. So be it.

If they do reach across the asile, hopfully it will be to grab them by their pencil necks to shake some sense into those under utilized brains in the democrats. :)

Although I believe that Hilary Clinton would not make a good president, the fact that the Republican warmongers are back in power is guaranteed to result in another US led war. The American dream - rip off who you can and kill all in your way. Keep the pond life down and ignore laws you impose on them. Are any of them worth a toss ? Not from where I stand. The US is increasingly becoming part of the problem, rather than the solution and today is swamped in corruption. Rather you than me, mate. I wouldn't live in the US if you paid me.

So much pain behind this post.

Our president is part of the problem. Where do you think ISIS got their weapons from?

Actually, I'm not a bit "freaked out" about the election. As I see it, now the shoe is on the other food, ie: If the republicans want to pass any bills, they have to get by the President. He still holds veto power and executive power.

I had to change my prediction on Hillary being the candidate. I used to think that she wouldn't be it because of her viability and she frankly just isn't as good as her husband was. But since very few if any serious Democratic candidates are going to put their political necks on the line in 2016 she might win by simply being the ONLY one to run. She is 92 years old so its not like she can wait till 2020 or 2024 if a Democrat wins, its pretty much now or never for her.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember President Clinton when he was actually president and not just posing. He had a Republican congress to deal with. He vetoed the first Welfare Reform Bill. And the second. Representatives told their constituents to tell the White House what they wanted. President Clinton passed the third bill and is still taking credit for Welfare Reform.

Barack Obama is in an even worse position. He actually hates the U.S. He's on the wrong side of Americans on every issue. He opposed voter ID, wants an open border to the South, wants taxpayer support for illegal aliens. wants higher taxes, more regulation, no pipeline, much higher energy costs, and the total government control of healthcare. Rep. Nancy Pelosi succinctly put the liberals position forward when she said she didn't care if no one wanted Obamacare, it would still have been passed.

So, let the President veto bills that the people want. And watch the Democrats, including liberals, who see their cushy jobs heading south, react. How many Democrats ran on Obamacare this election? It's only going to get worse.

According to Right wingers on this board, since the election was so different from the polls we can assume an avalanche of Republican voter fraud.

Despite what the right wing noise machine told you, President Clinton was a conservative Democrat but he was a bright man. He ran on intelligent welfare reform.

President Obama doesn't hate this country. I just assume people who say that are mentally challenged.

To translate. Bah, bah, bah, bah........

Can you post that quote in context?

I guess the right wing noise machine has given you your orders.....be a good sheep.

We can start by investigating all those machines that change your choice from Democrat to Republican...

Wait, just kidding it was the other way around.

Then we'll blame it on the ID laws. Democrats couldn't vote!

Further showing their ignorance of basic Congressional procedures. The House sent a Funding Bill to the Senate, and they could do either one of three things:

    1) They could've wrote their own bill for Reconciliation(hence sending it back to the House), 2) They could vote against the measure or 3) They could sit on it.

They chose #2, and very specifically told the House that they would only approve a full funding of the ACA. In short, they were unwilling to meet the Republican House in the Middle(which House Republicans WERE willing to do, as they went from repeal to the extension of Mandate Delays).

The irony was that the POTUS had to do it anyway. The Dems missed an opportunity for 1996-1997 like collaboration. Yes, they had Congress but that doesn't mean you get to shutdown the House(which they basically did.)

Had the Democrats understood tact, instead of 'protecting the President's legacy', maybe Dems still own the Senate. The Dems missed a historic opportunity in 2009 partisanship, now we'll see if the GOP can avoid the same mistakes.
