These over-enthusiastic progressives are a lot like Islamists, they act individually because of a murky ideology they don't fully understand.

They think they're doing the right thing, is the scary part. They're "true believers", in that regard.

    2 things:

    1. The sheer audacity to replace the 50 stars, the representation of the subunits of the country, and replace it with one singular picture of a PERSON is communist-level cult of personality bull(*)(*)(*)(*). I'm shocked anyone in a Western country would do such a thing, to idolize a leader on a flag in place of the symbols of their entire country.

    2. Why the hell do you have a law restricting what can be done with US Flags? A flag someone owns is private property, they should be able to do whatever they want with it.

I pledge allegiance to Barry Obama and to the progressive democrat cabal
    for which he stands.
One nation, without dissent, with indoctrination and social justice for all that deserve it.

    Amen.

And that's another thing: Why the hell do school children have to recite a pledge to the country every day? Like some kind of cult. Every time I hear it I'm reminded of those school kids doing the Nazi Salute and devoting themselves to the portrait of Hitler at the front of the room.

I was voicing my opinion. That "story" was worth about 3 minutes of airtime.

I say was because the story is from early 2012. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/03/1...removed-from-floridas-lake-county-democratic/

So why was it posted in "Current Events?"

Don't worry, though. I'm sure this thread will be full in no time with veiled racism, apoplectic indignation, and calls to impeach Obama because some local made a bad decision.

Perhaps she should have ordered that tea-stained flag kit that was all the rage a while back.

There really aren't any laws regarding what you can do with a flag. There are codes and guidelines but not much by way of laws. I think the moron woman in the piece who did it in the first place took it down because of the ensuing crapstorm, not because of any sort of illegality.

They don't have to. The Supreme Court has ruled time and again that children are free to abstain from the Pledge, but they must sit quietly and respectfully of others taking part.

You are spot on! Liberals have their heads in the clouds. The liberal ideology is basically abstract ideas and fantasy.

A socialist, Francis Bellamy along with his brother Edward, started the flag pledge and the salute. The Nazis adopted his salute as theirs and we then went to a couple of modified versions before the current one of right hand over heart.

    http://rexcurry.net/pledging-allegiance-photographs.html

The flag pledge is a wonderful example of the power of political indoctrination. It's really difficult to be against any of the ideas in it until you get to the "under God" part. Some folks don't like that. Even so most people didn't really believe in the ideas of liberty and justice for all because they supported the rigid Jim Crow laws until the 1960s. But it does sound nice when a lot of people say the words in unison with their hands over their hearts and tears in their eyes.

    OMG!

    Republicans are outraged!

Seriously, it's stupid, but it's also stupid to get all worked up about it.

Well, at least they have one instead of waiting for their talking heads to given it to them.

    I call BS.

You claim the liberals have an ideology?

Let's hear it. Let's see if you can articulate it.

This is a perfect example of the Banana Republic mindset of

the modern day liberal. They have no problem with "THEIR" guy

breaking all the rules. obama can spy on us, bomb civilians,

use the IRS as a weapon and so on without a peep out of them.

They will scream bloody murder when the rules they changed

and the precedents they have set are used by the other side.

While in bad taste and overall disrespectful to the flag that I've bled for, the action itself is protected by the 1st Amendment, something else I've bled for.

No. You claimed liberals had a "murky ideology" not me. Why don't you tell what it is? I doubt you understand it, that's why it seems "murky " to you.

    So, let's hear it.
