So I'm doing deliveries right now for a living. Some businesses. Some residentials. And over the course of the last month, I delivered to every walk of life you could possibly imagine. I delivered to rich people in gated mansion communities. I delivered to poor people in inner city ghettos. I delivered to rednecks in trailer parks. I delivered to white people. I delivered to black people. I delivered to hispanic people. I delivered to Asian people. I delivered to Indian people. I delivered to young people. I delivered to old people. I delivered to men. I delivered to women. And I noticed one recurring theme among all of them. They all wished me "Merry Christmas." I have never been wished "Merry Christmas" so many times in my life by so many different people.

So once again, the conclusion I've reached is one that most of us have known all along. That the only people who are really offended by Christmas are white liberals. Nobody else gives a crap. Because they all celebrate it.

When people line up at 4:00 in the afternoon on Thanksgiving for Black Friday sales, what do you think they're buying that stuff for? They're not gearing up for Kwanza. They're Christmas shopping. And we all know it. So why do we buy into this stupid notion that people are going to be offended by calling it what it is? The reality is that the only people who are really going to get offended are the same people who get offended by everything. Because they wake up every morning looking for new things to be offended by. Whether it's the implied racism of the Redskins team name or the implied racism of the song "White Christmas." All these people want for Christmas is something new to get upset about.

If Mr. Tran, who barely speaks English, can wish me a Merry Christmas when I deliver to his house, then forgive me if I'm not all that worried about offending some Jeanine Garofalo type. Get the hell over it, white libs. America celebrates Christmas. All of us. From all ethnic backgrounds. And we love it.

    Merry belated Christmas.

It's Christian and because it's a feeling and euphoria that the can never duplicate they " in essence " hate it . And it's not belated , although maybe a certain definite day is past , I wish you a Merry Christmas . And to the haters , well they can go screw themselves.
Thank you , thank you very much.

......celebrated with greed, overspending, football, drunkenness (December, the month most teens have their first drink), football, stress, overwork, more debt, gluttony, football, domestic abuse, family feuds, and really bad sweaters...and ungrateful people returning gifts no matter what the thought behind them was.....how Merry! :)

I say Merry Christmas to everyone as well. I would absolutely love to trade lives with whomever honestly gets offended by the phrase Merry Christmas. That would mean that as an adult their lives must be absolutely so care free that they are able to find the time to get upset by such a petty thing. I wish that my life had so few real issues in it that I could get upset by a phrase like that. But unfortunately for me I am a normal adult with normal adult issues in life that I worry about and my mature adult brain won't allow something so minuscule to (*)(*)(*)(*) me off.

I've noticed a new trend where they saying goes, "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays", in many locals.

This is quite a change from even a few years ago where it appeared that Merry Christmas was on its way out.

It looks like the liberals are losing yet another battle.

I wish my Muslim friends a Merry Christmas; they give me updates of their Ramadan. It seems that the only ones trying to turn this into a "war" are those upset about a handful of people who don't want to be involved with Christmas. This includes public funding of religious displays.

Although Christianity is steadily declining, Christmas is a tradition that I enjoy despite being an atheist.

Well, as a non-christian, I can say, I don't really give a rats ass about being wished a merry christmas.

But that's not really what the war on Christmas was ever about. It was more about Christians being offended if you DIDN'T wish them a merry christmas. You see it alot, people bashing stores for not putting up Christmas decorations or saying happy holidays instead of merry christmas. These types of people consider it an attack on their religious beliefs if everyone else does not pander to them.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you actually think that only conservative Republicans say "Merry Christmas."

We are agnostic here. This year unfortunately brought a series of funerals, of near-and-dear, loved ones, who have moved on to a zip code and area code which we cannot reach. It shook our faith in atheism and turned us agnostic. Being raised in the Christian tradition, we have to wonder, what is so awfully wrong with it? Even science (in which we fervently believe) cannot begin to touch certain questions. Big ones. Especially during funerals. If there are no atheists in the foxholes, are there any at funerals? We have to wonder.

That said... Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year to you!

Not true. He puts coal in the stockings of Godless leftists, per order of Santa. Each chunk of coal has a message attached to it, such as:

    - "This is for making death threats against a family of those bakers who didn't want to make a gay wedding cake against their beliefs."
    - "This is for destroying the business of an innocent hard-working father of three during your protests."
    - "This is for organizing homosexuals to make out and feel each other up in front of little children and their parents who wanted chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A."
    - "This is for ripping off law-abiding taxpayers with EBT cash scams."
    - "This is for unlawfully resisting arrest and attacking cops."

    etc.

LOL! So I'm a "Scrooge" because I avoid all that! Thank you for proving that all that is what you feel Christmas is....:)

I celebrate Christmas with a good dinner with family and friends and gifts and some wine and talk and laugh and the TV is off.........YOU can keep all that other stuff that makes it a "real" Christmas for you....:)

See this is a good example of why people are upset about Merry Christmas....you see liberals weren't fighting any battle to lose. The chronology is simple.
Retailers, in an attempt to be inclusive, started instructing their employs to avoid holiday specific greetings and say time honored phrases like Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings. It was marketing. For those of us who don't celebrate Christmas, the idea that someone would be inclusive is something that gives us a better feeling about the store. It is a minor thing but when the world suffers from the need to Christmas up everything, including Hanukkah, (some (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) actually said at a Hanukkah celebration that Jesus is the reason for the season) that is something. But the crazy right would have none of it. They boycotted stores and made all kinds of threats calling businesses Satanic etc.

In fact almost nothing has changed. Most places acknowledge Christmas even though for some it wasn't prominent enough. People who know me don't tend to say Merry Christmas because they know it is like wishing me Happy Birthday on THEIR birthday. It is stupid. But people who don't know me and assume I celebrate I tend to just not worry about. However I, when appropriate, mentioned I don't celebrate (like the time a woman pushed my then young child about what he wants from Santa after he told her politely that he was Jewish). But the bottom line is that only stupid people think that atheists and non-Christians want to end Christmas and spend any time thinking about it. Most atheists celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday. Many Jews do as well who are in mixed religion families. It is another example of the right wing noise machine proving their followers are idiots to keep promoting it.

Margot I think you are going to have to spell it out to them, reason and logic does not seem to be a strong point here!

By the way, Merry Christmas Margot! (obviously I cannot be a white liberal, which has come as a bit of a shock to me!)

Of course there is no "war on Christmas". It is just another annual ginned up hair-on-fire trope pedaled by the fever swamp outrage machine to scare the gullible hicks into sending money to the usual suspects. Apparently the poor saps haven't figured out that after 50 years of "the war on Christmas" and all the money they've given nothing has changed one way or the other.

Thanks for the anecdote but your opinion is like, your opinion. If Christmas is about Christ, where does the blatant consumerism come in? Oh yes, it was Christ who invited the moneychangers into the temple and implored them to make loans for the purchase of gifts...the highest good.

There is no war on Christmas. You are probably someone that views himself as a victim most of the time. There's a war on AMerica to push the underpaid into buying crap they don't need...that's obvious even to one like you, I'd hope. Remember when the Bush Administration dropped the ball permitting the US to be attacked on9/11? Remember what the President said? To help the country in its time of crisis, SHOP. Just like Christmas.

I'm not sure what the purchase of giftwrapped Lexus cars and Ipads has to do with a life of ascetic redemption devoted to helping the least of us. In other words, the modern view of Christmas has nothing to do with Christ and his teachings and everything to do with making the well-off even richer.

I would say that you have failed in your stated opinion.

    Happy Holidays.

"""You are probably someone that views himself as a victim most of the time"""

    Looks like it.

I always like to ask people who whine about this imaginary war on Christmas to list exactly what they lost in the war.

    They have never answered.
