Since it has been going on for 150 years, I doubt it. Of course it's not just blacks, Hispanics have been complaining just as loudly about being profiled as illegals. And of course there is the issue that profiling is illegal and jurisdictions across the country are being sued over it every day. The obvious solution to me is have the cops stop the illegal profiling and simply act on probable cause equally for all citizens. But in what country could you possibly expect equal treatment under the law, right?

A LOT more is wrong with the whole picture than what "Blacks" are or are not doing.

It never ceases to amaze me that some White Americans have this way of 'pretending' to stand at a distance (on high), and dictate solutions to another group of people (even as if their own group is completely unimpeachable).

As an American, I say that's disgusting. :(

You libs are so full of (*)(*)(*)(*). WTF is wrong with profiling? You mean to tell me if you had your choice to board a plane full of arabs, or a plane full of nuns, you'd choose the arabs? If you had a choice of walking down an alley filled with senior citizens leaving a bingo game or an alley filled with gangbangers, you'd choose the gangbangers? (*)(*)(*)(*). Every species on the entire planet profiles. It's not evil, bigoted, racist or any other bull(*)(*)(*)(*) term you guys can come up with. It's a survival instinct. Most illegals are Hispanic. Naturally they're gonna be profiled for being here illegally. Blacks commit an insane amount of crime. They're gonna be profiled when crimes are committed.

There's a reason there is widespread distrust and resentment of police amongst the Black community.
I'm not going to say it's racism, but blacks are more likely to live in cities and neighborhoods with a prominent police presence.

What happens when the ne'er do wells of NYC figure out that the police aren't going after minor crimes? Purse snatching? Shoplifting? Vandalism? Worse, imagine NYC cab drivers figuring out that they can speed, drive on the sidewalk, run red lights with impunity.

Even worse, what will this do for the city's coffers? Those fines help fund a lot. Of course, they could always raise taxes.

Police officers aren't there to deter crime they are there to enforce our laws, many of which people wanted like seat belt laws and sales tax laws both of which led to incidents with the police. Perhaps you could tell us if you think seat belt laws should be repealed?

    lol, fun read.

the reality is that most in black neighborhoods do want to be policed and have always wanted 'more' police but the unfortunate thing is that these law abiding, hard working blacks are not the one taking to the streets, making noise. These blacks are busy with jobs, raising families and don't want to be in the public eye. All they want is for crime to come down so their kids can walk to school and not be shot, gang-raped or robbed. We don't hear from these blacks, they are afraid to speak out and then be targeted by the thugs that terrorize the black communities and don't want to be policed. I guarantee you that if you go to high crime black neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, LA etc.. and conduct a poll at every household, the vast majority will plead desperately for more policing. Most of them are sick and tired of the dangers they face on any given day and seeing their friends, causins, brothers, sisters or parents being gunned down all the time.

The answer is actually MORE cops IN these thug infested neighborhoods so that the thugs are stepped on, put behind bars and dealt with harshly. Who gives a damn about the media and the Al Sharpton's of the world, we can't given in to terror, cause that's what they are - Civil and racial terrorists. These lads are constantly stirring racial tensions, lying to us about police brutality when they should be focusing on the terribly high number of black thugs holding black neighborhoods hostage. it would help if more prominent blacks like Barkley push for a cleansing of the American black thug but too many are afraid to come out and speak the truth. The truth is that the problem in Black America is BLACKS themselves and until they are dealt with (with more policing, better education and accountability) the situation in these black neighborhoods will remain as it is. We need more policing, put a muzzle on the Sharpton's ( i would put him behind bars) and encourage the Barkley's to speak out more so we start facing the real problems and make progress.

If you raise a thug, that thug will eventually "come home to roost".

Most black neighborhoods look like barn yards of thugs.

Your overall point is well taken, but you have apparently never ridden in a NYC cab. :D

So why did the left work so hard enacting these nanny laws if they dont want them enforced? Were they stupid or should they admit drastic mistakes?

The quality of life in the American black community would improve drastically if the government stepped away. End the war on drugs, gradually scale back welfare to zero. Cop inaction can help achieve the first part.

That's what scares me is that I have. And I'd hate to imagine all the laws that cab driver would have broken if he wasn't worried about tickets because he broke quite a few of them.

Seatbelt laws are a benevolent arrogance. They're nothing but the best intentions of some being imposed upon others by force of law.
