Thousands of bodies rot in the streets of Nigeria as Boko Haram strikes again.

That's because we don't believe in hope and change.

 

I read several feeds this morning where Boko Haram is undertaking a massive effort and has all but destroyed a dozen towns, killing every living soul there.

Where is this in the MSM?

 

Boko Haram is making major progress. It looks like there's going to be a North Nigeria pretty soon. No one seems able to stop them.

That's why the news media isn't covering it. No one likes a bad story with no solution.

And, it's not on the national list of priorities, because it's none of our business.

 

Well there isn't a hashtag yet. US action is dependent on a catchy hashtag.

 

Unfortunately, the slaughter of unbelievers in the 100s has become a common occurrence in the lands of Islam. While the slaughter of a dozen in our lands still shocks us.

I think it will be interesting to see if, and how, french policy towards its former colonies, particularly their security supports, changes in the wake of this.

I know they were instrumental in Mali and are operating in Chad and the CAR but I don't think that Nigeria is currently hosting French troops.

 

If we're talking about killing the opposition to make way for a desired goal, then Boko Haram is making good progress. One day there will only be Boko Haram to deal with. Everyone else will be dead.
