I did not vote for President Obama.

I also had to practically FORCE MYSELF to vote for McCain as I abslutely HATED Sarah Palin as I though...no...I KNEW....he addition to the GOP Presidential Ticket was stupidity.

Thing is President Obama won the Presidency...TWICE....as he was ELECTED PRESIDENT BY THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STSTES OF AMERICA!!!

Now at this point this is over and he is our President and I accept this and I have GREAT RESPECT FOR THE OFFICE OR THE PRESIDENCY!!!

But it seems some people here don't.

And that is something that BUGS THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!

For those of you who don't know I work with members of the U.S. Military although I am not Military as I am..."CIVILIAN"....in the manner the quotes denote and I have been doing this for multiple decades.

I can tell you that people like myself as well as Members of the U.S. Military get REALLY.......P!$$ED OFF....when they see or hear ANYONE disrespecting the PRESIDENCY!!

Now it is an AMERICAN'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT....to express themselves and their opinion specific to any Political Leader or Party and this includes the PRESIDENT AS WELL!!!

I and those like me and the guy's in the U.S. Military I work with WOULD NEVER ATTEMPT TO EITHER QWELL OR DISSUADE any American's Constitutional Rights...EVER!!!

But we do have an issue with those who DISRESPECT THE PRESIDENCY.

Regardless of what anyone personally thinks of President Obama he IS OUR PRESIDENT and was elected by the American People.

When a person or member makes comments that call into question the verasity of President Obama's being the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES...such a person is not only disparaging the PRESIDENCY...but as well such a person is disparaging THE UNITED STATES, THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AND OUR FREE AND DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM!!!

THAT....is what IRKS a person like myself as well bothers those I work with.

Why would I respect an office if I don't respect the person holding it?

What exactly has BO done that is worthy of respect?

I think at this point the man himself has disparaged the US and the constitution far more than any person on this forum has.

And in case you haven't noticed... the military doesn't think much of Barry these days either!

So the OP would blindly accept anyone in the presidency without question?

Thanks, but no thanks. Any position that holds that much power should constantly have its veracity tested. The OP may be willing to drop to a knee to worship his holiness but it is those that question who ensure that we have liberty in this nation.

What irks me is when people pretend to be speaking on behalf of large groups of other people such as "members of the U.S. military". When not in uniform, I know no military members who speak respectfully of the potus. "Idiot-in-chief" or "(*)(*)(*)(*)ing (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) in the whitehouse". Seriously, disrespect can hidden for a short while, but respect can't be faked.

you can respect the presidency and still disagree with the president, attacking him over anything and everything like republicans have been doing is disrespectful to the office, Obama has done nothing to deserve the disrespect republicans have given him from day one

You can treat the office with respect, without having to respect the current office-holder . Its not even hard. You just subdivide the duties he performs, from the policies he pursued.

You don't seem to get it.

You have a RIGHT to express your opinions.

I am just attempting to explain to you that those of us who are in a position to PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS....find it disheartening to see you disrespect the Presidency as we see it as a swipe at our Republic.

You KNOW this is NOT what I posted.

I am asking people to RESPECT THE OFFICE.

Even if they don't respect who is in it.

I am asking you to RESPECT THE OFFICE.

I didn't ask you to respect who was in it.

And although your right....I cannot speak for the entire U.S. Military...but I CAN speak for those who are like me as they are very few in number and I know each one of them and what they believe in this matter.

As well I can speak for the members of the U.S. Military I work with because they feel the same way.

And as I have been doing what I do for multiple decades I can tell you the majority of the members of the U.S. Military I have met and worked with all feel the same as I do as well.

    EXACTLY!!!

Even if you don't respect the man who is President...the RESPECT FOR THE OFFICE requires a certain level of respect due the President.

I have seen some extreme disrespect and I didn't vote for Obama but when someone in Congress yelled....LIAR...well that level of disrespect for me is intollerable.

President Nixon even though he did what he did....still should be afforded the due respect that should be given the Presidency.

I do respect the position.... but to ignore the person's shortcomings because he's POTUS.... no way.

W was attacked non-stop by the left over any decision...

was Nixon given a free pass? Hell no, nor should he have been.

I have no problem respecting the position and the title.... but to suggest we just not hold him accountable because of the position is idiotic.

Like I said, tell that to the liberals. Tell that to Hitlary, who back then wanted to deny President Nixon a lawyer.

Tell that to the liberals who bashed Bush. Tell that to the liberals who LIED about Reagan.

It doesn't only work when you have a Kenyan illegal alien for president.

Neither did Bush, but you people disrespected him EVERY DAY of his presidency and are STILL disrespecting him 6 years later!!! Don't be a hypocrite. I respect the office. I do not respect the liar who is holding that office at the moment. He doesn't even respect his office. As has been stated many times, he was voted the worst president ever. There is a reason why. You can't make this stuff up. And I am sorry that you are so blinded that you aren't willing to see what he is and what he has done. We can only hope that hindsight is 20-20 for you.

Both the Left and Right have done their fair share of bashing.

    It is sickening.

Neat rallying cry there Op.... but just as I wouldn't have respected Nixon after Watergate (had I been alive), or Clinton over his impeachment, I have zero respect for the current habitual liar either.

Only someone of character, class and ability should be President.

In other words..... respect for the office is exactly why people disrespect Obama.

Obama, and all of his blind supporters, can get F'd.

I and many others who have defended the Constitution and Rights of the American People feel that a certain amount of RESPECT must be granted a President of the United States.

Even if a person does not like the man....they should honor the office.

You don't seem to be getting what I am talking about.

Things like members of Congress shouting the word...LIAR....to a Standing U.S. President is simply disrespecting the Office as well as disrespecting the Nation.

and I agree.... but I agree whehter it's for Obama, or Bush..... I just don't think your concern extends to the Republican side of the aisl

I agree with that, too. I did not like that at all. But to say it's not respecting the office to impeach Clinton for pergery because he's the potus would be dishonest....
